All of you who use this board are constently saying how we need to do this for the board or that for the board or If you do this on the board or that on the board it's going to get shut down. If you truly care about the board then read on. The post about Ryche, McMan, Captain Max, etc... has been viewed by almost all of us and we have relished in the negativity, and fed into it as well. (myself included) But the one thing that will cause this board to be removed in the fastest way possible is being ignored. Ryches alleged "sock puppet" vendors sending spores to cali will not get this board shut down. As fast as pissed of church going dinner at 5 every night parents who's kid is caught gaining truthfull knowledge (at least in our eyes) about mushrooms .If you people truly want this board to remain open fix the major problem 1st.

When you first sign up to get a screen name it says are you at least 13 Yes No?? you might want to change that to 18 (legal adult in the U.S.) and maybe add something around there that says if you get a screen name and post anything that tells us you are under 18 you will be banned there is a kid on tonight that practically gave out his home address what school etc... the quickest way to cause problems for this board will be a parent who blames the shroomery for there kids fuck ups and then after further investigating they will see that there child admitted to everyone that he was still in school and not 18 and you allowed him to be a part of our evil mushroom cult. and that will be it so everyone who is interested in this board staying open better look into this
I DO NOT have any problems with a minor gaining factual knowledge (and what better place to do it) of what the life has to offer in this "field" of mush. culture. PLEASE FOR THE SAKE OF US WHO ENJOY THIS BOARD FIX THIS MINOR PROBLEM
NOW I hope that got your attention. I am not trying to say bad shit about anyone. I personally enjoy most everyone here but we will lose this board,our wired friendships and someone to talk to about what we may have done wrong or brag about what we have done right if we do not address this issue right now.

Wow, the impatience is sometimes ridiculous here... Ok first of all we have not only considered the age thing, we are planning on adding a entry page which asks for the age verification.. Also when new members sign up we will also ask that they are 18 or over to join this community.

What I am seeing lately is this pushyness and people not asking or suggesting but 'Telling' us what to do... And the fact remains this website has been around for many years without having any problems so far... We will do this change, it just takes some time.. We volunteer our time and believe me there is a lot on our plates right now....

What is irriting the most is nobody has any patience, nobody seems to understand that we are doing our best and we are listening... Instead its constant taunts, threats, insults, claiming we aren't doing our jobs.... Please show some little amount of respect... Before we took over there was little done through Aphex because he was a very busy individual... Now we take over and work hard on changes and everybody complains?!? I don't get it, should we change it back to the way it was....

You people really don't make our jobs any easier, try giving us some respect and your patience....

Hi Thor,

Just a thought or two about this site. I feel that you should have the profile box be filled out by all with all of the information it asks for. Except the ICQ or MICR service numbers since many do not have it.

When joinging other forums, especially public forums on the web it will not accept the registration if the person leaves a blank box.

I sugget that you make people fill in the boxesin the profile such as hobbies, state location, and other things pertinent to someone wanting to be part of this site rather than posting nothing in those boxes and then trolling us all. you do not have to put the email address if an individual does not want his email known, and this is cool since we have private messages.

So you should require all members to fill out the other boxes at the profile to belong.

Occupation, Hobbies, Geographic Locations and Bio.

If those are filled out it gives another member an (hopefully) honest image of the member and his interests in the site and all of us a little more security of who is posting rather than some jerk fucking with our minds.

Remember we are a site which is here to help stop the spread of dangerous misinformation and even people joking here by posting bs posts about shrooms is deifinatlely not helping to stop the spread of misinformation but is spreading it as it is posted.

I can understand why someone might be paranoid but there is no need if you are an honest person seeking truthful information from this site.

I know when I have joined straight forums they ask many questions and if you do not fill out all of the boxes than they won't accept your membership[.

I am sure you could fix the profile box to do the same.

This way all of the members are gaurenteed that what is posted here is helpful rather than BS..

I notice that in most, if not all of the bs posts, when I look up the poser, there is no information in their profiles which tells us something about them. This tells me they are BSers.

Anyway, just a suggestion on a way to control the trolls and give us all a little feeling of who everyone is.

I am releived that the age issue is being addressed. My one question is about age verification. How will this be accomplished?

I don't agree with the mandatory profile stuff. Anominity is very important to some members of this site and there is really no gain in making the profile boxes a requisite for registering. If people are going to bullshit on the boards, what is to stop them from bullshitting in their profile? If this place has taught me one thing about trolls it's that time is something they have plenty of and the few seconds it takes to make up a lie about their geographic location isn't going to deter anything.

Very good point and with the age verification system they usualy require a credit card which a lot of people do not have (I wish I didn't) but none the less there must be a different way If not. Then a lot of people will be screwed

Mandatory profiles I'm not sure about john, I don't know about anyone else but I get pretty anxious sometimes thinking about the near 800 or so posts I've made, the things I've said. I've never done anything blatantly stupid like "Hey, I lvie in xxxx, anyone else from here wanna smoke a bowl?" I have, however, given out little bits of information about me, my friends, my family, and my location. I take every precaution but I still worry sometimes.

A simple disclaimer seems to work pretty well on the other adult oriented sites, you don't hear about too many porn sites being busted for that. I think the shroomery would lose a whole lot of people if it moved to something more intrusive.

And Thor, you are doing fantastic work. That includes 3DSHROOM and all the other mods as well. Don't let the haters wreck your game ;)>

Ok, I think the age thing will be good, because this is not a board for children. Maybe people that have already signed up can stay regardless of there age(myself). I would be very pissed off if I had to leave this place. I enjoy this community and the culti of mushrooms a great deal and I have put a lot of work into this comunity.I hope I don't have to leave. I am not going to do something stupid and irresponsable, but I can't say that more most of the other 15-16 year old people that come here.

I think the very idea is useless... it won't keep anyone out who shouldn't be here obviously. It won't prevent parents of such children from being outraged ("Well I WAS terrified of you ruining my young child's mind, but then i saw that he lied to you, and i'm ok with it now, HE will be punished, have a nice day."). And, since there is nothing blantantly 'adult' about it, it won't save your ass from any legal recourse anymore then it being 13 would. Certainly more innappropriate (atleast in the mind's of your avg evil smiting mother) things are found without age verification, or likewise, of any type. I really think its a trivial difference and it won't amount to the difference between saving the shroomery or not.

Yes I agree totally. Make it as hard as possible for someone to enjoy this site. Require an age verification thingy that costs MONEY to sign up with a small portion of the proceeds going to the t-shirts. If someone leaves a hobby box blank, ban their IP forever. If someone uses a false e-mail address, ban their IP forever. I didn't realize there was a big problem with trolls. I think the problem lies in the no-fun-factor parental types trying to turn (or having already turned) the shroomery into a Hive type serious atmosphere.

I mean we already have more than two mods who don't hold back when it comes to there disgust with those who use "hard" drugs. These types would be happy if pot and shrooms were legalized but never want to see thpose other "bad" drugs de-criminalized.

As far as I'm concerned this is not a pro-drug awareness- anti-misinformation site when several mods will tell you lies like "heroin is more addictive than crack" and the like.

If we're only going to have an age limit to prevent legal troubles, then why not just go for the bare minimum? upon registration, you check a box that says you're over 18....Sure, there's nothing to prevent people from lying, but nor is there something to prevent people from ripping off an Adult Pass type thing.

god i hate adult check type services, they have nothing to do with age, and everything to do with credit. you DONT have to be 18 to even get a credit card anymore, my ex girlfreind got her first one when she was just over 17 (dont say its impossable she still needed her parents co-signing), and here i am 19 have had the same job for over 2 years, savings, and checking account, i had my own phone line for a good long time, and i cant get squat! not too mention since using the adult check costs the user needing to be verified nothing (some services) whos to stop some kid from writing down his mothers card number/exp. and use it on the free checks? meanwhile im over here not getting access to this great site because im not a theif and wont steal my mothers card (called morals) and cant get a credit card

There is no connection whatsoever between on the one hand a drug that opens your heart and soul to kindness and optimism and on the other hand drugs that cause people to become short tempered and mean spirited and ugly, is there?

So why should the mods back off on that?

Actually, that's not the problem. The problem is within each of us, it's welling up from inside of us. It's how well we prove we can get on with growth and health that determines what we are. All I'm saying is that necrophilia isn't a very decent hobby and that hard drugs are not a happy thing. So why talk like trashy people? We should be a little more dignified. But some people think necrophilia is cute or clever. It isn't.

We should clean our minds up a bit after, say, fucking the family pet while drunk or strung out on amphetamines, before we bring all that trashy nonsense to a forum about the beautiful shroom. Am I making any sense here? I get the feeling I'm coming off as pushy. Please excuse my rudeness.

Some people think that soft drugs are cute and clever and safe and beautiful and a communal walk with nature in a green pasture and all that bullshit. Listen Jack. It may be true that no one OD's on marijuana and shrooms, but they are by no means any different than those "hard" drugs you so calously mentioned in your post. Elevating your drug of choice, your escape route of choice above other's drug of choice is nothing short of elitism.

Most posts on OD that involve what you consider to be the harder drugs are almost always met with stern warnings to steer clear of excess use of that drug. Likewise, it would be nice if you flowery happy people would remind those who use flowery happy drugs that using these happy flowery drugs in excess can produce unhappy results. Perhaps you haven't seen these effects yet, but you will one day understand that even a harmless drug like pot is not a harmless drug when used in excess.

I can't help you with your necrophilia, lichen. You will require professional help for that one.

Please do NOT put in a poppup window on the index page, where you have to click "OK" to enter the site.

It`s really annoying (people want to get where they want to go with the least amount of clicking), it should rather plainly state on the index page that by entering any of the other links you are thereby stating that you are of legal age.

Shrooms make me want to brush my teeth. They make me want to drink quantities of clean water. I seem to feel I can taste every ingredient in a given food or drink. Shrooms make me aware of my body and what I'm putting into it. Shrooms tell me not to drink very much alcohol, or use too much tobacco. They tell me to be strong-minded and they energize me and motivate me. They build in me a respect for others and help me to be balanced and happy. I am beautiful and normal and free, and life is excellent. My children and mate are happy with their lives and with me, and I love them very very dearly. Shrooms bring my mate and I closer together. We share everything, all the time, and we never argue. We've never had a serious fight in all our years together. Shrooms are enlightening and beautiful. They have no harmful effects if taken wisely and in moderation, and with purpose and presence of mind. Shrooms do not overtax your cardiovascular and pulmonary systems. They do not damage your liver. Once they leave your system, poof! you're back to normal. They leave the body within hours, no side effects, no health problems. What other drug can you say these things about?

Of course all drugs can cause mental problems and most can cause health problems. Some drugs destroy families and men and women. Some can destroy your mind. Shrooms are very serious business, and I myself have had a problem with liking the shroom--and other drugs--too fucken much, please excuse me. But at this time in my life, I have learned that shrooms can be theraputic and beneficial. You may deny it, but shrooms really are of the gods, if I may use the phrase.

And since that's encapsulated in a post of its own, I'll put another pertinent one here:

You've got to control the drugs. Drugs can cause a whole world of damage, especially to young inexperienced people. It's difficult to see when you're young and inexperienced, but if you abuse the drugs,

a) you may become unable to get off them,
b) you may develop health problems and psychosis in the meanwhile.

That being said, shrooms are still the very best 'recreational' drug that has every been discovered, IMHO. (But Wow! they sure can be hard on idiots and people who don't know their own mind fully)
