So, how can I cut down on beef?

I just realized today that I eat way too much beef...
...not that I'm a health fiend. Quite the opposite. But I realized that I don't particularly *like* beef, and I eat it for at least one meal everday...
I live at home, and my parents for the most part do the cooking. A typical week consists of Hamburger Helper, Pizza, KFC, Chilli, Steak, Mongolian Beef Stir Fry (My mom has a thing for odd asian food) and fishsticks.
That's what we eat for dinner.
Every week.
So, I thouht maybe I should try and cook for myself, and eat more interesting and/or healthy food...
...but I don't know of any.
What are more interesting non-beef derived meals I can learn to make?

Substitute your beef for turkey.
I eat tons of poultry since I've cut down on my beef.

Go to the culinary forum on this board, there's lotsa great, non beef recipes.
Like the chic fil a cow says "eat more chicken" Mooooooo
Cooking for yourself is actually really fun, very rewarding, and usually much cheaper and better for you than most of the crap you listed (not saying I don't eat my fair share of said crap).
Just go at it man, it can seem intimidating, so start with a simple recipe, the first couple dishes may not be great, but you'll pick it up quick.
Good luck, and have fun cooking, woooohooo.

Fish and poultry. You'll get insane amounts of protein, and the omega fatty acids will do wonders for just about everything.

all good, but a lot of chickens are so hormone pumped and filled with some bad chems its not that great anyway. also check where you get your fish from, its not uncommon to find mercury in them. i have also been hearing about led contaminents. its common practice to soak them in milk to draw out those toxic metals, if you wanna be cautious about it. i personally dont nor care to, but its not a bad thing to do.
i have found myself eating more mushrooms instead of meat now. oysters especially. very good. in combo with other food i think it would be a good semi-substitute.
then again we are canadian and do need our cow. i couldnt imagine goin cold turkey with something as good as beef.

that's not even alot of beef. def use ground turkey meat for stuff like tacos or spaghetti. beef a couple nights a week is cool, the rest should be chickeny goodness...not kfc though.

MMMMM, shitake mushrooms. Oyster mushrooms. Matsutake. High in protein, good beef substitute. Make 'em with pasta, stir fry. Shitake are also high in B vitamins which is good for your brain. Some fish also is good, real fish not fishsticks :-)
