Here are some pics of my girlfriend Allyson and some of my/her plants. Isn't she just beautiful. I can't wait till we're married!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is her beside my "big" San Pedro. This is her with a Datura metel plant I gave her. She can't wait for it to flower! This is a peyote button grafted to a San Pedro pup. She also has another peyote I gave her at her house. She thinks they're so cute! And finally, here is a picture of both of us. It's not a very good picture, it makes us both look fat. In reality I'm 165lbs, and... well I don't think Allyson would be very happy if I told you guys hers. Hope you enjoyed the pics!

It is a species of intemperance within itself, for it goes beyond the bounds of reason in that it attempts to control a man's appetite by legislation, and makes a crime out of things that are not crimes. A Prohibition law strikes a blow at the very principles upon which our government was founded. - Abraham Lincoln: Speech in the Illinois House of Representatives, Dec 18, 1840.

Your pictures make me feel warm and fuzzy.

Nah, I'm not going to let her take that. I've had enough experiences with it. I wouldn't want anything to happen to her. She can't wait to try some HBWR (I can't wait either), and we are going to take some san pedro together sometime! She loves to listen to me talk about plants/everything else. I love when she asks questions, I love to listen to her also. I would really be lost without her. By the way, the grafted peyote is of the caespitose variety. She can't wait to see her first pups!

We could plant some peyote seeds together and let them grow naturally. Raising them together would be just like raising kids! Then we could pass them on as heirlooms. Hey! That would be an interesting idea, peyote cactus as a family heirloom!

Anybody know how long peyote can live? I assume if a 10 year peyote is the size of a dime (in its natural habitat), a tennis ball sized peyote from the wild would be pretty old. What's the oldest peyote you know of?

longes ti know of in person 14 years, but im sure they live longer. i would not be suprised if they have the potential of 100 plus. they jsut seem to fit the ancient category.

From what ive read it takes 5 years to get 2-3". As they star to throw out pups the main button growth slows so the size isnt proportional to age.

which is probably why its so hard, if not impossible, to tell age of wild ones i would assume. are there any known mehods for telling age?

some peyote can take up to 20 years to fully mature. so i imagine it could go a few hundred years. god ,could you imagine a 200 year old button?!! now that would be something.

the natives used to think on the seventh generation beyond... you guys should start grafting seriously! lol... ah, it's not that slow... a 2-3 yr old button from seed is 2cm-1" in diameter on average... get some trichy rootstocks, lophs, loph seeds and go on!

Technically, producing pups a single plant could last forever. Since each pup has the exact same genetics. My great-great-great-great grandchild could have a peyote that was originally grown by me. Cool!
