I think you might be confusing them with Phalloita. Never seen any type of honey mushroom with scales like that. Wait for a better ID before eating anything.

yea they look similar to pholiota terrestris.. but says that they are eatible too

Very interesting specimens. The features are correct for Honey Mushrooms, but they are more scaly than any I've ever seen.

A spore print will quickly settle things. Honey Mushrooms have a white spore print and Pholiotas have a brown one.

Assuming a white spore print, try keying them out here:

That's tough. If I had to guess, I would say ringless honey. I've found specimens that sort of bruised charcoal gray like yours look like they are doing. That is a lot of scales though.

its hard to see but they definately have a ring.. they were already pulled out when i found them so im sure it gave em time to dry a bit

also they have already been in a bag for like 3 days so a spore print is probably too late right?,, i might be able to hit the spot up again but i have no car..

Give it a try. You might get a spore print anyway. As long as they haven't dried out it's possible.
