Chocolates good for preservation?
    #3221621 - 10/06/04 03:02 AM (19 years, 5 months ago)

I was gonna wip up some mushie chocolates for Halloween and hand them out as fun party treats ( I promise not to give them to any kiddies ).

I was thinking of maybe just makin some now because it might be good for preserving them, seeing how they are encased in chocolate and all, and keep them in the fridge.

Thoughts?

Sure thing. I keep them in the freezer (over a year and a half before) but fridge should be cool~!

Do not directly melt it. You have to use a pan with water in it on the bottom and the stove heats up the water which heats up the pan on top of the water pan with the chocolate in it. The upper pan is heated by the steam of the water instead of the heat from the stove which causes it to not burn. Mix in powdered mushrooms (though you can dip whole mushrooms) and pour into molds.

kramer says to nuke your chocolate for 30 sec. at a time....melts best this way and no hassling with the stove top...watch it close because it will burn in the microwave!

What's wrong with directly melting it?

Will break down the active chemicals. Psilocybin doesn't really like being heated.

So why can't you just cook it on the stove, wait till it's almost all the way cool, then mix the shrumes in?
