PmP Pod?
    #3222100 - 10/06/04 12:15 PM (12 years, 2 months ago)

Im considering going the route of PmP for my terrariums. I was at the aquatics store today browsing through a selection of air stones, bubble walls, tubes, and pumps. A few questions came to mind. What air stone is the best. Are the long bubble wall tubes? Or can a little diffuser stone work? Also, what size pump would I need to run 8 bubble wall tubes, what size pump would I need to run two? If there is a thread out there answering these questions in detail that I have not found, please direct me there. Thanks!

1. use the long bubble tubes.

2. The Profile 5500 is a good pump with two outlets it handles 2 wands easy and could probably do 4 easy enough.

if your gonna be running what seems to be 4 pods you may wanna try Martha

Damn that sure is sweet . . . .I was thinking of running 4 pods. I have an air hose splitter and flow control to run the pipes, I was just wondering if they make an air pump strong enough to run all those air stones. This martha thing looks really sweet . . . What are the pros and cons vs. the pod?

con: bit pricey.
Pro: you can be lazy. All you need to do is harvest and add water and H2O2.

Use the wands, not the stones. I've used stones in my 29gal fresh water tank(yeah, I have fish, too) and they blow bigger bubbles in only few spots. Wands in the back of the tank gave nice even and numberous small bubbles. I think you can buy 2 wands in a pack at Petco for $6. And don't use the flow controller. You lose a lot of air with it, not to mention they are very very uneven.

hmmm...Well it simply handles larger grows easier. The pros are the same as the pod really. Constant airflow, pretty much takes care of itself.

Con, Well if the power goes out the poorman's pod has lava rock that handles humidity. Despite what many believe the pump only handles air exchange it really doesn't help in humidifing the chamber. Now if the poser goes out with martha and your not home it can get ugly.
