Art these LIberty caps? (photos)
    #3221679 - 10/06/04 06:25 AM (12 years, 2 months ago)

Hi Folks,

Went looking this morning for about an hour and this all i found tucked away in the grass nearby some undergrowth on a cow pasture.

What are these?

Any ideas ? Wish they were liberty caps but i don't think they're breast shaped enough or chocolate coloured enuogh to be ? correct? If they're not can anyone tell me what they are and presumeably they're not active?

Looks like coprinus, the gills should "melt" and turn into a dark liquid in time.

Coprinus, possibly coprinus micaceus. Not really edible, certainly not active. Nothing special, very common mushroom. They do look pretty though.
