What the...
    #3209675 - 10/03/04 01:17 PM (19 years, 5 months ago)

These Koh Samui Super are a week and a half into the fruiting cycle, but here is a baby shroom about the size of a nickel, but no veil...you can see the gills already. Has anyone sen this before? The others look similar, and they are all really stumpy.

(Have a pic, but post will not accept it right now, I'll try later)

i heard that early veil breaks are usually due to insuficient moisture, and that more light will make them taller, but it could also be the strain... hopefully someone with more exp. can add to this...

Here's the pic. It's been two days and they aren't growing anymore, they just seem to be shriveling. What's going on? They have the same conditions as previous batches.

Looks way to dry to me, but I'm a n00b so take that with a grain of salt. What is the humidity in the chamber?

This won't help but that strain did the same to me also.  They were short and fat but packed a punch.  :goodluck:

Your supposed to use big verm for casing. And not only does the verm look wet but theres mycelium growing on the caps so I don't think that dryness a problem either.

They look cool. Probably like the fat asses from the PF strain, just what you get. Hope you get a nice weight off it at least.

yea, it's the first flush, definitely not dry. I used WBS and this subtrate had been left in the fridge for about two months, then I cased and sprayed with 10% H2O2. I'm thinking that the fridge caused mutations...or maybe it's just the first flush. Anyway, I cut out some of the ones that stopped growing, thre are so many. Definitely screwed up looking.
