Dunk length

I'm curious why such a long dunk time like 12-24 hrs is recommended. I would think that verm would soak up water like almost instantly. Is the mycelium really "dry" and needs to be rehydrated? Has anyone done a test to see if something like 5% weight is added to the cake on a 12 hour dunk, while 10% would be added to the cake on a 24 hr dunk?

kramer dunks for 24 before the roll and spray
dunks of 8-24 hrs for later flushes :thumbup:

the dunk will give the mycelium enough hydration to produce bigger, better and lots more fruit!

u want the myc. to absorb the water.

and a colonized cake dosnt exactley seep up water. with me, i actually never notice and difference int he water level.
