WBS Question
    #3217300 - 10/05/04 06:45 AM (19 years, 6 months ago)

Hi, i was wondering if it matters what sort of wild bird seed you use or if it has to have certain ingredients, like millet, sunflower seeds etc.

(and also if anyone buys it online from the uk?)

Thanx for your answers

Nah i wouldnt think so what you want is a wbs that contains mostly red and white millet with little or no sunflower seeds.

Find finch seed this is what I use and it works great . Just make shure it dose'nt have fungicidils that would be bad .Finch seed cunsists of millt and small sunflower seeds, you can find it with out sunflower seeds and that would be best . hope this helps and if it dose I would like to see your progres.

Cheers for the replies.

I can find finch seed online in the uk but not kramer.

I found it on two different sites and one charges ?3 for 1kg and the other ?14 for 12.5kg

Is there much differences between different working grains?

Also how much do you normal use grams wise per jar

Nah I just got it at pet shop, randome WBS..But its different and it occurs to me its likely because we have different wild birds here or something. Anyway the stuff I bought today was billed as 'cockatiel mix' and its just millet with sunflower seeds.

The PC came today, I got it of amazon uk, coz it has ?9 off and free delivery. Here it is: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN...1808037-5061221

Oh ok, well let me know what the pressure cooker is like cause i need to buy one aswell.

I found some bird food which just has

"White and red millet blended with canary seed" Its called `Quinastra budgie mix No. 1 20kg`

http://www.gonewalkies.com/xq/ASP/dept_i...hop/product.htm

So its that or the finch stuff i think. The finch seed has more un-needed bits though *i think*

Anyone tried the above stuff?

Thanks.

Anything that is primarily mixed with milo/millet will do , try to avoid the ones that have pretty colors in them  . The dyes will do you no good , and will even mislead you to think you have contams .
Good Luck

I bought a big bag of WBS from a supermarket, turned out that it had some tiny ass mites and took me a while to get rid of the buggers from my house. Perhaps not the best place to buy.

Lol... I think you've gotten something confused. Kramer is the name of who grows all the grows that george castanza refers to in his post, not the name of a brand of birdseed.

Get the cheapest birdseed you can find, and it will probably be the kind you want. It sounds like you are shopping at pet food stores, which will carry speacially formulated bird seeds and such for pets.

Any and all references to growing are completely facticious, all pictures shown unless specifically stated are stock photographs found via google image search.

lol ohhh, i wondered why it didn't come up with any bird food and just names really.

I take it that's mainly just American?

Also about the pet shops bit, do you mean i shouldn't get it from a pet shop because it will be more expensive or do you mean i should because they will have the right sort?

Thanks again
