P. Semil. ID request.
    #3218289 - 10/05/04 03:06 PM (12 years, 3 months ago)

Hey dudes. I went back to the same place as yesterday (http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/3213233/an/0/page/2#3213233)

I found a few more mushrooms that I think may be liberty caps:

Note especially the one of the far right, it has a reddish stem, I think maybe it is different to the others.

I think im done with this site, total 5g fresh of mushrooms in like 4 hours. I would grow my own, but I live with people who I wouldnt want to know about it...

An ID would be much appreciated, thanks dudes

--Joe

They look like em! The one on the far right does look a little shady though, can we get a closer picture?

Dude, most of them there mushies in your pic would gladly be gobbled up by me given the opportunity. The Semi season is only in its infancy. as long as we dont get a hard freeze, you will be able to pick Semis til late November maybe early December. If you found that many I garauntee you there are many more where those came from. If not, there certainly will be in the coming weeks. What the Libs need in order to fruit in mass amounts is the NW 45 degree drizzle. That my friend is coming. I feel and understand your frustration. If you want to quit this site and give up hunting for actives thats your business , but if that is your plan could you show me your pasture so I can pick bunches of em all fall long?

The bruising may actually be more apparent in the mycelium if you cant find any on the caps/stems and try to get spore prints next time!

Although they look like liberty caps, it is impossible to tell for sure as the pic is too small.

Can you get a close up shot - otherwise we cannot give a definate ID.

sorry dudes, i accidentaly posted two of the same picture. I changed my original post so it now should have a closer one too. I cant get any more because they arent fresh now sorry. Spore print didnt work, i guess they were too old.

They were growing just in an open grass field, mostly quite short grass but with areas od denser longer grass. I think they were mostly found around cow shits, but never on them ofcourse.

thanks for the replies so far

i think it's a mix of Psilocybes Semilanceata and Panaeolus Papillonaceus (love those ones, not active but very nice mushrooms !) The one with a red stem is a P.Papillonaceus for me...but not totally sure !
