humidity

Hey all! Just how important is a tightly-sealing terrarium? I'm using perlite humidification, and I don't think the humidity is high enough because i'm getting very small (5-6 pins)flushes and the cakes tend to dry out quickly. Also, I had some caps splitting on my first flush, but there was also mycelium growing on them (the caps). I also get a lot of mycelium on the stalks.... Should I be concerned? :mushroom2:
Thanks

If you are getting myc on the stipes, then the humidity is just fine. Try misting more often to keep the moisture content up. Stop misting once you see pins though.

As for air tight, no. Air has to escape eventually.

I'd say your humidity fluctuated a bit. The low points caused split caps and the high points cause mycelium to grow on the caps. You should be ok, I get the same occasionally. Mycelium on the stems is fine though, that always happens. Its yummy and squishy.
