See the FAQs for how to make a print and syringe then PC some (yes honey will work) honey water (1 tbsp per 100ml) for 15 minutes at 15 PSI. I've heard the microwave works too but I don't know for how long and if you have a PC you may as well just do it that way and be sure to get it right. Don't PC it for anymore or you'll carmilize it. Not even a minute more. Honey seemed to carmilize quicker then karo. Honey will give you a golden color making it harder to spot contams then karo but it should be light. If it gets darker you carmilized it. It will still work carmilized though IME (only tried twice worked both times after PCing for over an hour).

I microwave for 10 minutes after boiling starts. Be careful though, it can boil over really easy in the microwave, leaving a sticky mess... you need plenty of extra space in the container.

My friend PC'd for 30 mins each time she's done it with no caramelization.  I think what causes it to caramelize is how quickly the PC heats up.  Put it on a lower heat than usual to get it up to the right temp and you should be able to PC it for 30 mins or so.  Not like it really matters, just mentioning it

With honey water too? Not karo or malt because I've notice honey in particular. And there was no change in color at all? It was just as lightly honey colored as when it went it or did it get darker at all?

It is possible your theory is correct though, I always heat up my PC on high (despite knowing you should heat it up slower according to instructions).

But 15 minutes at 15 PSI is enough to sterilize liquids either way. Gotta make sure you start the timer at 15 PSI too, these times don't include warmup times.
