contams under myc?
    #3215223 - 10/04/04 08:21 PM (12 years, 4 months ago)

hey folks.

i'm working on my first grow and after getting 3 contaminated jars i am curious about something... most of my jars are at least 90% colonized. but on a couple of them, i think i can see green/blue spots under the white myc... my question is, should i throw them away? or maybe since the myc is almost all colonized it will be able to fight the contam??

thx for any comments.

I'm only new, so I'd at least get an experienced persons opinion on this before doing anything. But from what I've read you should start again as soon you see some contams. Just make sure that it actually is a contam before you throw it away. Also, apparentley if some bacterias or moulds release bad toxins, it can travel throughout the myc network, and could hurt you if you eat it. i'm not 100% sure on any of this so I suggest finding out a bit more first.

You'll have to wait and see how it develops. Report back any change to this thread.

If they are 90 percent you can birth them and cut away the contam. maybe you can save a little.
