Let me start by saying that I'm a newb. I'm using the pftek BRF method. I now know that I'm not to pack the substrate. Before I knew this, I packed some jars a little and I left some jars very airy. I noticed that a larger percent of the packed jars contaminated and the airy jars didn't at all. This was in the control jar stage before I innoculated. I put 3/4 in. of dry verm on top, and PCed for an hour. I was just wondering why I got the contams (green, black) between PCing and innoculation. Thanks.
Unsure, though its best to innoculate as soon as they have cooled from pcing, this way the spores you add have a better chance of out competing the contams. Maybe you didnt pressure cook at a high enougth psi ormaybe not long enougth. This is something you need to get ontop of.
