hehe... sheesh. First off that you even use terms like 'spirtual status" shows that you are thinking along the wrong lines, as is the title of your thread "the SINGLE most important thing to know"

MY RESPONSE:
None of what you people have shared in the above quotes is more important for happiness than working towards living a strong and healthy life and yet I have learned that there is something even more important than living a strong and healthy life. So far no one in any forum I have visited knows the direct answer. It?s amazing that the knowledge of modern mankind is obviously devoid of the most important thing they collectively need to know in order to live the most wonderfully happy lives possible. It?s no wonder that mankind is a race growing in insanely killing turmoil. Humans prove over and over that they are obviously more interested in making money off of their problems than they are in solving them.
Knowing the most important thing is to put oneself in a position to attract all the solutions one needs to improve the quality of life. It is each person?s responsibility to solve the problems in his or her own life. If each person in the world tended to their personal responsibility in this matter the turmoil of the insanity of mankind would calm down and there would be hope for the human race. As things now stand I see mankind as a culture obviously headed for extinction as a species. Obviously, none of their current philosophies or religions are adequate enough to stop the spiraling of mankind into a suicide of ecological destruction.
I believe there is nothing mankind can possibly do to stop the retroactive effectives of the insane above and below ground nuclear tests that have doomed the future of the human race. You can indeed expect more and more volcanic activity and earthquakes as the worldwide weather goes increasingly vicious angry mad!
World War III has already happened. It was conducted against planet Earth and you will soon realize that?everyone lost!

Goodness, Sid you've proven yourself, even more so, an arrogant spiritual elitist. Anyone who would sit on such a high horse and look down disaprovingly on the spritual understandings of the rest of the world is certainly not as wise or enlightened as he would claim to be. No one here has said anything that wasn't insightful, important to thier spirits and hearts and an important part of thier spiritual path but you, Mr. Wiser-than-thou points and mocks all that don't prioritize ideas in the same manner you do. Like I said, lighten up. We are all where we need to be. A lot of people here are really working on opening thier spirits up and understanding themselves, the earth, the universe and arrogant assholes like yourself certainly don't encourage people to step confidently into thier own spiritual path.

Making something more important then anything else is scary business as that's how Gods are created.
It requires some duality perception to do that as in more and less are involved.
If the question was, what is single idea that has helped you more then any I would answer;
Realising that I can't change the world or others and may not have control over everything that happens, but I do have control over how I react to what happens and can change myself to change reaction and actions.
Why do you jump into message boards with a test, setting people up to pass or fail by your judgment?
