help sick kittie!
    #3205120 - 10/01/04 10:58 PM (12 years, 2 months ago)

alright i have a 4-5 year old persian hemalayn cross who has been sick for about 2 days, so i figured it was time to visit the vet..
well he has a urinary infection, witch is common among fixed male cats (my sisters cat has the same thing)
so he kept my kittin overnight to see how he was doing, and to decided weather he need somekind of tube thing (kathra or something).
turns out he needed the tube, but when he put it in, it failed to work, and he said my kittie has an unusuly small urithera (the thing he pees out of?)
and so he is going to try some alterentive tubing..but if this dose not work, my cat will have to have a "talk" because the only other alterentive is to give the cat a complete sex change..

i can just emagin how lonley and how much pain he is feeling right now, and i feel so bad :frown:

i was wondering if anyone new any sites were i might find a price for a cat sex change..
i was kinda shocked and didn't ask when i talked to my vet on the phone.
he has worked with all the animals in my family, so i trust his dission.

i just have a bad feeling that to save my poor kittie, i would have to spend over $1000, and i just can't afford it.

so umm yes if anyone has ever heard of anything like this befor..info, or good websites will be much apreciated (i can't spell that word either)

this is what happens when they 'design' 'pedi gree' 'breeds'

a cat is an animal that supposed to be a friend not a pink, goofy, short legged, fluffy meaw-ing toy

take lesson, cat breeders

One of my cats gets crystals which block his urethra. He's been hospitalized twice, the last time in April. Hopefully the vet can get the cath in. My cat can now only eat Hill Presciption Diet CD. Expensive but it doesn't cause the crystals. Good luck to you. Your cat will be fine.

Your poor pussy cat! I am thinking of you, and hope that some positive answers come up for him.
Prescription diet is expensive, but really important,as the cat gets exactly the right thing. I got 3 cats, and they're all on prescription food.
The narrow urethra is a really common problem, and I'm sure if you go on to Google, there's some really good advice out there.
Good luck with everything.
