First Timer - Help!

Hi, this is my first time cultivating. I am on to the stage of the cakes in a perlite terrarium. I have lots of stuff poking their heads out, but they are all long and skinny, with just a dot on the top. Also, some of them appear to be shriveling. Is this a problem, and if so, is it indicative of anything?

Check your humidity, if its around 80% then your good, try fanning more often to get some gas exchange in there.  The little dots are the caps and they will get bigger just give 'em time.

I can see a world where this is no poverty and no war, I can also see us attacking that world because they would never expect it. :wink:

It generally takes 3-7 days (or so) for the mushrooms to mature. I'm not sure what you mean by 'shriveling'. When mushrooms do abhort, it usually takes a couple days before they rot.

Do the cakes still look thick & moist or are they starting to get thin & dry?

Everything sounds normal except for the shriveling. At the stage you're at, it's all about light, temp, humidity and gas exchange (fanning).

If the cake won't fruit, you might have luck casing them.
