i need some info about mario brothers shrooms...

i just found some mario brothers shrooms in my brothers room...
he has a decent sized bag of them (probably about 10 or so capsuls full worth) and i want to take some of them...
but i have never taken shrooms before and don't really know what to do
he has a bunch of capsuls with the bag and i figured that i could just put some in a capsul and take it, but i don't want to take too much because i have never taken shrooms before (i have tripped a few times though)....my bro had some a while ago and he said they are the best shrooms in the world (or atleast close)....im planning on taking probably a 1/2 capsul full later tonight unless somebody gives me any other suggestions

By mario brother shrooms do you mean thay
are redish with whites spots if so so are amanita muscara
fly mushrooms they are a diferent trip than standard cubeis
and such do some research on erowid.

i dont compute "mario brothers shrooms"... i say take as much as hell let you, you wont regret it. or at least 3 capsules full. thats mycophagic advice.

Probably not a good idea to eat something if you don't know what it is. Why don't you ask your brother? He'd be the one to know.

i have tried looking up erowid on the net, but all the pages that have info get blocked my the damn norton internet security thing....
i would ask my brother for info, but i want them free =)

anybody bother to ask how old this kid is???

I get the feeling he is pretty young if he is refering to amanitas as the mario brothers shrooms. That makes me a little worried if he is messing with something as serious as these mushies not knowing A SINGLE THING about them.

They are amanitas and there's information about them at the shroomery (actually a menu option) with lots of great info.  Personally, I wouldn't eat them in a fit and I'd tell your brother to be bloody careful too. 
For one, the trip they give is supposed to be more intense and scary, second they are hard to identify as there are many mushrooms in that family that look the same and are poisonous, third the real ones are actually quite poisones and fourth they're your brothers, you theiving little rat. :wink:

first of all dont eat the shrooms...they arent the same thing as psilocybin and they do become toxic at high doses
second, lets flip the situation. what if those were YOUR shrooms and you found out they were gone (or taken by your brother) would you be happy? ya i thought not

The Amanita muscaria does not become toxic at high doses...you have to eat a LOT of them to get the effect...Shamans used to fast, eating only on the Amanita muscaria for long peroids. After eating the (dried) caps, you'll get sick to your stomach but that'll pass. The upset stomach is from the chemicals in the mushroom but all the "good stuff" from the mushroom is passed thru your system via your urine.

So if you wanna do it right; eat the mushroom and after you get nausious, piss in a cup and recycle it.

Or were you just wanting to catch a little buzz...roll a joint man, if you don't know what the fungus is...leave it alone. There are some mushrooms that look a lot like the Amanita muscaria that will kill you...the Amanita muscaria only produces a death LIKE experiece.

The "Warty deathcap" Amanita franchcti is poisionous, so is the Amanita flavoconia "Yellow Wart". The "Flimsy Veil" Amanita parcixolvata is posionous and it starts out looking just like the Fly argaic...when it gets older, it is all red - like it's missing its white spots.

Correct me if I'm wrong... didn't he say they were ground up anyways? How can we have any idea what some powder is? Don't take them from your brother... ask him.. and if he's such an asshole that he'll charge his own brother for shrooms...well then I guess you can steal them. Just find out what they are first.

I didn't get the impression that they were ground up, just that there were some capsuls in the bag with the shrooms.

Either way, that post was send out 05/18/01 - I'd like to hear what happened. he should know by now what they were.

are there a lot of amanita's that look like muscaria?
i got the impression they were DISTINCTLY different.
phalloides has the same basic "shape" and features but different colour... what other poisonous amanita's look like musacaria?

Look, my point is - Be careful when you are dealing with mushrooms. I'm no mycologist and I'm not going to pretend like I am. If you wanna pick and eat mushrooms at random (from the wild or off someones desk) go right ahead. I just like to have a little more background about the fungus that I'm eating.

I'm not going to argue about which mushroom looks like this or that mushroom.

Gigantism.
I read about gigantism being one of the effects of the A. muscaria. It causes objects to appear much larger than normal. Though its ironic that when Mario eats the mushrooms he grows larger. It makes you wonder what the game developers were really thinking.

WEll it is funny to call them Mario Brothers shrooms because I played dig dug, actually made it to stage 97.

At the 17th and 37th levels of the game, the center square for the dig-dug bug is an Amanita Mushroom and Dig-Dug was invented before the Mario Brothers Game.

So I am surprised that this kid, and I agree with Holographic Mind on that one (referring to the poster as the kid), that he should have called them Dig-Dug shrooms.

Of course what do I know.

And no MJ if the aminita appears only twice in dig dug and everywhere in mario brothers then they should be called the mario bro's shroom. ahaha that one made me laugh
