Understanding is like having a map of the subject in your brain, truly understanding is having an accurate map, less accurate maps = less understanding. Learning is like drawing the map. That's the best analogy I can think of, anyway.

following/connecting a certain subject with a clear mind......while noticing that it feels good.....if theres a confusing/bad feeling while following that subject, then your not understanding completely.

not so easy.
the feelings of pleasure or pain are not really part of understanding.
and are sure not a measure of degree of understanding.
would you feel pleasure to understand someone's pain?
also confusion is part of understanding. it is the getting acquainted part of synchronizing with something new or when you are synchronizing but what you are trying to understand changes course, or speed or disappears.

do it without referring back to a pleasure sensor or pain sensor which is usually what you would expect to be stimulated by a seargeant or a dog trainer - related to reflex building not to understanding.

reflexes are like train tracks, very mechanical.

understanding is more like life and light, more co-mechanical - more oriented to the totality of the issues that the particularity of pleasure or pain.

A neurorgasm, if you will. When you learn to associate one concept with another, those particular neurons fire together and you have that link between ideas everytime you think of one of them. Learning is just certain neurons firing together, strictly physiological.

To me, understanding means having empathy and/or compassion, regardless of whether I agree or not with the outcome, or with the means by which the outcome was achieved.

Knowledge + Time = Wisdom

Wisdom + Time = Understanding

Make it easy, if you have the feeling of confusion, then your not understanding at all.

To acctually understand something clearly one has to detach his/her emotions from the subject completely,

But what happends after you passed that feeling of confusion? then you understand it, and it should not effect you at all, because you know it insideout. Understanding someones pain is the same thing, if you understand, then you shouldnt feel bad, theres nothing new to surprise you.

When i say a tiny orgasm, its not pleasure, but void.

Firstly, understanding is experiencing an understanding for. Which means that understanding something is firstly having a unique and distinct experience called understanding. Secondly, it is the establishment of a system that will govern your future actions. A, B and C = D. I understand A therefore I just need to understand B and C to understand A, B and C and ultimately, D. Now that A is understood, D can be understood and perhaps it is impossible to understand D without understanding A at some point. Most importantly though, understanding is an experience and that is the deepest level of abstraction you will reach in the matter.
