Fruiting chamber question....
    #3201684 - 09/30/04 10:59 PM (13 years, 1 month ago)

I've read a great amount online and in books about the proper fruiting chamber design.

I have seen pictures of chambers where a sort of deflector shield of plexy glass is used to separate the chamber. One side is where the cakes are and the other side is meant as a spray zone to introduce misting sprays, with a hand spay bottle, that will not directly hit the cakes.

1. If a cultivator is using a base of wet perlite, is dividing up the chamber and hand spraying still necessary?

2. I looked through the pics gallery and haven't seen many photos there with the divided chamber, though this may mean a humidifier is being used right?

I know some first time cultivators that don't want to spend a lot on humidifiers and things if they aren't a necessity.

So "wise ones" shed some light, if you will, on whether the "divided chamber/hand spray" tek is necessary.

Thanks much, and keep up the great board!

all you need to do is get a tub and case in it and put that in another tub and put a water heater in the bottum of the second tub and that will keep the temps right and then hand spray fanning isnt needed becouse when you spray you open the lid and that gets the air exchange done

It's kinda painstaking to set up a perlite/spray type especially if you get into it and decide to use machines and you have to set-up all over again (like my squirrekl just did). I suggest humidifier right off the bat. Although spraying first will discipline you to watch whats going on.
humidifier's definitely less work/messy

Drip shields aren't needed. Just spray over the cakes/casings and let the mist fall onto them. It's fine.

"life is like a drop of rain getting closer and closer to falling into a lake, and then when you hit the lake there is no more rain drop, only the lake."

Growing with bags, start to finish (including my new grain and substrate prep)
Anyone looking to start bulk tubs/mono tubs/shotgun hybrids? Good tubs to use..
How I do grain (old still good tips)
Turn your closet into a fruiting chamber
