Searched Everywhere! Please Help Me!
    #3200567 - 09/30/04 05:44 PM (12 years, 2 months ago)

Okay, I know someone will probably get on my back for posting this, but I searched the forum for a half hour and couldn't find anything relevent. I can't find vermiculite!! I've looked at Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Meijer, and 2 local lawn and garden stores. I talked to the assistant manager at Home Depot and he asked around and said that they used to carry it, but they dont anymore. And I talked to a guy that worked at one of the local garden places and he said he had never even heard of it, but then again this guy was only in his late teens and probably not much of an expert. Where are some places you guys have found it? I know that I could probably order it off the net somewhere, and I will if i absolutely have to, but I really dont want to have to deal with all of that.

I'm getting frustrated because the vermiculite is the last thing I need. I already have the jars, the brown rice, the spores, the fruiting chamber, lighting, and a place where I plan to buy perlite once I get the jars inoculated and everything gets rolling. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

Take wild bird seed soak it 12 hrs in water fill your jars 3/4 full ,Leave enough room to shake the seed after 40% innoculation is seen!
After the jar is then pressure cooked at 10 psi for 45 or so Tke out let the jars cool over night and innoculate in the morning!
Hope this helps I'll post a link in a momment

Hey, I read into the WBS tek and it seems fairly easy, but since I have been preparing for a while for the PF Tek, I think I am going to stick to that for my first grow. Another question though, I searched "Ace's" website, and found that they do sell vermiculite, but they say that it is used for gas fireplaces. Is this the same type/grade of vermiculite I need? Heres the link: Vermiculite Would this work?
