Need ID! almost positive there P. Subbs
    #3199789 - 09/30/04 11:57 AM (19 years, 5 months ago)

hey guys, I found these mushrooms going in front lawn, and in the back by some flowers. My parents recently had a huge truck load of fertilized dirt and wood chips brought over and we spread it everywhere, and since then these mushrooms have been poppin up everywhere. I did a lot of research and came to the conclusion there P. Subbs. i just wanted to get some opinions. also wanted to know if they would be active or not.

-there size ranges from 2-3 cent. to about 4-6cent
-cap is caramel brown when young and gets lighter as i've seen in older ones. almost white to a pale yellow
-stem is brown, hollow, stringy, white powder everywhere, vertical grooves running along side of it. no bluing, when damaged, but some of them have some blue at the bottom of the stem.
- i took two spore prints of different ones, and they where both black.

here are some pics, please let me know what you guys think.

The stems are too thick for foes. Could well be it!

Yes, but not particually strong. I've been looking for these so long, I'm thinking of dumping wood chippings in my own garden.

Those are most definetly them I've been pickin em all summer . They aren't too weak but they aren't the most potent either.  I eat about 30 grams wet to get initial effects but lately I've been eating about 45-70 grams wet and gettin a very decent trip....real bright colors huge trails fully dilated pupils conveyer belt carpets melting/breathing walls morphing darkness "the fear" ect.  I'm planning on eating 100 grams wet this tuesday to have a full blown trip.  Have fun with those man.

I found some false Subbs earlier, caps were exactly like them but the gills were too pale.

Just make sure when you pick em to leave all the babies so they keep coming back. I was a jackass at the beginning of the summer and raped a very good spot to much and now they barely fruit there. I'm wiser now though.

Some of the ones I pick have paler gills at first they almost seem brown sometimes. But once I dry them they all look the same and they definetly get me f'ed up.

I doubt he'd enjoy the taste too much they aren't paticularly appetizing; however, he could eat a few and decide he likes the buzz and scarf more you never know. I had a lizard once that would be a complete ass til I had him drink beer with a funnel and every time I did it he was cool and seemed to enjoy the beer...but thats a little different I think heh. If you catch him eating them tell him he's a bad dog and smack him or somethin that might help:)

I DEFINETLY perfer eating them wet over dry any day. I think the trip feels cleaner and they are much easier to get down. Last time I blended 70 grams wet with 3 scoops of ice cream and some orange juice and just plugged my nose and chugged. With your nose plugged you don't taste em too much when they're wet. I think next time I'm just gonna blend em with a glass of water plug my nose and down it, then wash it down with orange juice for good measure.

I always turn my ceiling fan on high and put them on my floor with a heat lamp over em....but I'm sure there is a better way than that. I've only dried em maybe twice. If I'm not at my house when I find em I just sit them in the window of wherever I'm at and let em sun dry.

If they are in a zip lock bag freeze them soon. If not they will begin to deteriorate and be all crappy. If you keep them frozen though they will last forever
