Amanita Muscaria var. Farmosa?
    #3198703 - 09/30/04 03:23 AM (12 years, 9 months ago)

Friend of mine found this near his work. . . he said there were 15 or so growing in a line, many of them bigger than this one. They were growing in dirt.

Cap: orange/brownish in center fading to light orange/yellow
with white to slight pink patches, sticky when wet. radially lined at margin. 15 cm diameter

Gills: white to pinkish, free

Spore print: White

Stem: White, with large floppy ring originally. He brought only one home and it was handled quite a bit. We will provide pics of better specimens tomorrow. 16 cm long

Sorry these pics suck my camera ran out of batteries. Will update fresh pics of more of this patch tomorrow! Any ID help/tips will be much appreciated. . . Thanks!

I think that is what you have, but Amanitas can be tough to ID, so wait for an expert. I have found tons of these lately...they are everywhere. Not really worth consuming I have heard though...so i wouldn't try that....and definitly don't without getting an ID from someone who is 100% sure.
