Dogs and Shrooms
    #3197891 - 09/30/04 12:19 AM (13 years, 1 month ago)

I heard a sad story at work monday and we should all take notice. My buddies chocolate lab attacked his dad (sunday) while high on liberty caps. They had no idea what was happening and tried everything to stop the dog. He ended up shooting the 10yr old family pet and taking his dad to the hospital.
His kids told him the dog had been eating the mushrooms all day! They just moved in the house and had no clue what was lurking in the yard.
He sprayed his whole yard with poison and told the story on Monday. We talked about it and I went to see just how many shrooms had had. LOL, He lives on 5 acres and I'll bet 1 acre was completley covered. Sorry no Pics.
He said he would have let anyone pick as much as they wanted. If they had only warned his family.
I asked him to post his yard as SPRAYED MUSHROOMS and he did. Please warn people of the potential hazard and don't be affraid to ask permission to pick.
Good luck and happy hunting.

They do and it's a bad combo. The sad part is the dog didn't know any better.
The funny thing is his owner (my buddy) played frisbee with him the night before. He was amazed at how the dog caught the frisbee in the dark (moonlight). He never caught anything! Just retrieved.
He has an old farmhouse with an old orchard. It's covered with old grass and there are Caps everywhere. No large patches, just clumps of 5-15. EVERY STEP YOU TAKE. His yard is honestly infested...
Too bad he sprayed. Thank god for good neighbors. LOL

Like I told him. They grow in patches but.... I think your yard is one HUGE colony. Developed over years and years of organic farming.

It's too bad he couldnt have just locked the dog in the bathroom or something overnight, but then again, it would probably looked at itself in the mirror and gone apeshit.

The mirror.. It's not when you see yourself, looking odd/kinda funny...
It's after you leave the bathroom. The first words you hear seem so clear and deep. It's like shakespear in digital.
No wonder the indians talked to Ravens......

doubt the poison will stop the shrooms, why the hell would he waste the money?

Got a question about a substance?  Erowid might already have your answer! Have questions about the  mushroom experience? The  Tripper's FAQ may have your answer or someone else might have had your question before.
