coarse vermiculite question

If u have a coarser type of verm, can u make it smaller? Or would it be alright if I used it? I can only find coarse verm.
Please help! Oh yeah.... i bought some of it.

You can make it finer by putting it in the coffee grinder and grinding accordingly. I use horticultural grade verm, which is kinda coarse, and I haven't had any problems.

The cat found that coarse verm actually worked better for the PF tek. He prefers fine verm for a casing, however.

exactly dog. coarse is good for the mixture itself, but finer verm for the top verm layer seems to keep out more contams.

if you really want to get it to a finer grade, put it in the coffee grinder as suggested and pulse it 2 or 3 times. that's what i do for my top verm layer as well as for casing mixtures.
