Yanking out Bush signs

This afternoon, I drove past a sign in the grass next to the interstate for Bush/Cheney 04. I stopped my car and yanked it out in broad daylight with other cars watching and then sped off.
I have two questions......
1) Is this legal? As long as it's not on someone's personal property it seems legal to me.
2) Who has done this this year? If you haven't, get to grabbing that junk out of the ground now!

It's illegal, not to mention childish.
-------------------- You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for that my dear friend is the beginning of the end of any nation. Yeah, typical liberal kindergarten behavior. Can't say it hasn't happened to me. My freinds and I used to take bets about how fast we would get Bush stickers torn down or defaced. It usually only took a few hours.

Come one. It should be very apparent that we show guys alot more respect and civility than you do to us. Alot of liberals I've met have a 'total warfare' approach to politics where the it's ok to be an inconsiderate, hypocritical asshole as long as your politics are correct. I've never met a conservative that confused personal conduct with political activism.

No, actually I'm just not blinded by partisan politics, and can see that there are plenty of extremists on both sides.

Sounds like plenty of Republicans I've met as well.

LDS: I like to think it's "funny", not childish. Explain why it's illegal though. It wasn't on someone's property. It was in the grass next to the interstate.
Alcon: No, a vote for Kerry isn't a vote for free speech. The cartoon suggests that a vote for Kerry is a vote for liberty(as in Statue Of). I don't believe that either, but you're going to get more liberty with Kerry than with Bush.

personally, I think it's childish to tear down signs and deface stickers.
not to say that I haven't considered it...
but you have to stop and say to yourself...what's to stop some tool on the opposite pole from doing the same to me.
everyone's entilted to their own opinion.

No, childish is the proper word. And as for why, you'd have to ask state legislatures. I believe the logic is the sign is someones property.
Really man, childish behavior.

I'm going to have to agree. It's really fucking pathetic to try and silence the other side. That's so Bush-like.

Let me just make it clear. I would NEVER deface a car sticker or take down a sign that was on someone's property. I would not even condone that.
What I did was take a sign out of a public place. How can that be illegal? It ceases to be someone's property once they stick it in the grass beside the road.

Be very afraid because I am very convinced of it. I live right near moonbat central and they are rabid and have no scruples. Of course, many here would say the same of the "Repoops" but we won't punch you or deface your property so readily. Losing in 2000 really set something off in the left wing that made them take flight as only a rabid moonbat can, all fluttery and bouncing off objects with no aim in sight, blind AND deaf, hopelessly adrift with no destination, pointlessly flailing against and not toward. I, for one, hope you find your compass and will rejoin the rest of us in rational consideration of our future course, but I fear it will probably take a few more years of total defeat before you catch on. I will not be pulling up any Kerry for Pres signs.

No, it's childish. If you want to be a little more mature about it, you can put up Kerry signs right next to the Bush signs.

but is it technically legal to put it there in the first place? i mean, you can't leave your car or litter on the side of highways? if its not legal in the first place, i dont think taking it down is that big a deal. now if it was on the person's own property...thats another story.
