?? about overlay + second flush

Hi everyone, I have a question about a casing that I have going right now. I waited a bit too long to induce pinning, so I started to overlay a bit. I did get a good pinset for the first flush, its looking absolutely amazing right now.. but it was overlayed a bit more while the little ones have been growing. I am wondering what the best thing to do after this flush is over.. should I deep scratch? should I recase? should I do nothing?
I will let everyone know the flush size. its looking like a couple hundred wet grams so far =)

I would replace the casing material where it will get torn out with the shrooms, give it a good spraying down so it's really wet, and then place it back into the fruiting chamber.

Yes never scratch unless you have overlay (more than one small spot) or as some have done to stimulate unproductive casings and the only time you want to recase is after scratching a casing for whatever reason. Now as Anno said patch any open areas Exposed substrate and mist to "near saturation". GL friend

thanks for the advice! the casing was a 16"x8" sterlite container. i had a phenominal pinset across most of it, except about 30% which was where the worst of the overlay was.
after picking the first flush (407.76g wet!!), the casing was pretty mangled. I deep scratched the overlayed part, and then saturated it quite a bit. i am out of coir, but i mixed up some vermiculite w/ water and did about 1/8" across the whole top of the casing (filling in the holes, and the sides where it pulled away from the container). I then put it back into my PMP.
Does that sound ok?

shit.. one more question.. how much water is too much? I got about half a centimeter of excess water in the bottom of the casing.. i was gonna try and let it absorb overnight.. if it doesnt, should i drain it?

You shouldnt have scratched I dont think. Casing layers get quite colonized and its fine, that doesnt mean its overlaid. The rest sounds good and it should be ok. Nice flush BTW Got pics?

You definitely don't want standing water at the bottom of your casing. I would poke a hole in the bottom in one corner so you can drain excess. Remember "near saturation" not saturation (runoff, dripping, puddling).
