Do you see holes in the lid anywhere in the directions?

I don't know. Providing you have the air coming from the bottom thought the aerators, and providing the lid is not airtight, you don't need any holes IMO. They probably don't do any harm either though. I would definitely put some polyfill in the holes you made to prevent flies from coming in.

the lid is not "air tight" so air goes out when it needs to..probably comes in some times too!

I am about to complete the making of my PMP. The only thing that is left to do is to cut holes for FAE. With all of this debate, I am unsure what to do. Holes or No holes?

the origanal PMP thread deffinetly calls for holes in the lid.. and magash's rubermade (it would appear) didn't have an air tight lid either. i would think co2 would have a hard time going up over and edge and then back down, as it is heavier then air...

I think the smart thing to do would be to just listen to Magash and put two 1 inch holes in the top. Sorry for questionning the fine points Magash
