Anyone want to trade some S&P MP3's?
    #3194576 - 09/29/04 07:08 AM (12 years, 2 months ago)

Hello peoples,

Lately I've been listening to a bunch of Alan Watts lectures / talks on MP3, and I've found them really inspirational, insighful, motivating etc. He talks about eastern belief systems including Buddhism, Tao, Hinduism, etc. and the way he explains it makes it easier for someone of a Western cultural background to understand. If you're interested in learning more about eastern thought, I would highly reccomend Alan Watts as a good explainer. His books are pretty interesting too.

Anyway, I have a slow crappy internet connection, so its hard for me to download stuff off the net, and not only that but its difficult to find some of the more 'obscure' MP3's  or other media that I'm interested in experiencing.

I have about enough Alan Watts MP3's to fill a CD, in MP3 format. I'm wondering if any of you have any Spirituality and Philosophy related computer media files, be they audio, video, whatever, that you would be willing to burn to CD and trade with me for a CD of Alan Watts MP3's. It could be anything ranging from people talking, to music, videos, documentaries, etc.

We would post the CD's to each other which doesn't cost much since they're flat.

If any of you are interested, please drop me a PM, as I love to see/hear more stuff, and I enjoy receiving information in other ways as well as text which is why I'm looking for other medias.

Alan Watts is a legend. Don't always agree with him, but he's influenced me greatly.

There's about 20 of his mp3's on this site.

Well I would give you all my MP3 files for free but like I said I have a crappy internet connection so it would take forever!

As for being more specific about what I want, well I am just looking for anything on the topic of S&P, in other words something that makes you think, or is somehow insightful, etc. Does that not make sense? I think it does.

Anyway maybe all you guys have high speed internet or something so you don't want to screw around with mailing a CD, but if you have some decent stuff on your comp and a CD burner please give it a consideration, its not that much effort

I already have most of Watts mp3s (over 30) so I wasn't interested in anymore. I'm also interested in other lectures from other speakers but I'm not sure who I should be looking for and those that I have searched for (Ram Dass, Metzner etc), I can't find any.

I had McKenna mp3s but I deleted them long ago. Total waste of time. I personally can't stand his views.

Terence Mckenna is a wonderful man with awesome, mind bending ideas. Definitely worth a listen.

well i'm a very patient person. I could wait for a month or even longer. Whatever it takes. But i'm not really into Alan Watts.

I'm willing to share these materials to anyone who is interested in:

the first source vol.1 CD of wing makers (www.wingmakers.com).

I've also got audio interviews with Eckart Tolle. For any one with high speed connections, i'll give you the link to download from a site. these files are about 150mb to 365mb!

I recently downloaded a few files from Kazaa, audio essays by Timothy leary. Strange thing about them is they are mixed with music and some of them are meant to be almost hypnotic, but if you listen to what he has to say its quite interesting. I can't tell if someone took Timothy Leary's audio files and added music , or Timothy Leary meant for them to be heard that way , but all the ones I could find on Kazaa had the music in the background ( like electronic ... pretty trippy too)

I'm pretty sure Leary and his friends made most of the music thats on them, but there are also some out there that have made music and put Learys voice on it. If if sounds really old school then its probably the 'real' stuff.
