Question for theists

By what right does a god demand anything of a man? What moral principle is involved that obligates humans to submit to the will of a deity? Might makes right? Finders keepers? No backsies?

This vague divine force typically known as God has more than mere rights, God has lisence. With lisence over existence, anything is possible. Therefor, God is beyond moral principles (along with all other ideas created by man).

God doesn't "demand" anything of me.

LOL!!!
No. I don't know about deities in general, but the deity to whom I pay tribute doesn't expect anything. I'm not obligated. He is mightier than I, but He doesn't take anything by force.

I never saw a passage in the Bible where God asked Mary's permission before knocking her up...

I try not to flame, Very weak. How does one try to not type cusswords? Are you possessed by a demon so that you have no control?
reguardless of how much you provoke people with lameass comments( like myself at times) No one was provoking you. You provoked yourself because you are stuck in your lower chakra.

Please don't anyone look at my Chakras, even if they might be showing. Sigh. I'd be so embarrassed.

If an omnipotent being created us then they can demand whatever they want. The Christian God is the proverbial 800lb gorilla.

*****By what right does a god demand anything of a man?***** The Deity doesn't demand. It is around you, within you and it is you. It is the Anything and All, nothing more and nothing less. *****What moral principle is involved that obligates humans to submit to the will of a deity?***** No moral principle involved. Because Deity is the All-Encompasssing One, all that occurs or is contemplated is exactly as it is supposed to be. We are a cogwheel in the clockwork that is the Universe. In each live we live we do nothing but exactly play our part. It sounds highly asphyxiating if you get blasted with this concept as fast as you read it but actually it is Perfect safety and complete adherence to the Divine Plan. All this is ofcourse my opinion. You might be destined to disagree

I see. So it's a case of "might makes right," then.

If this was what this omnipotent being wanted...well, yes, we wouldn't have a choice. Note my use of the word "if". It is very important to my meaning.

Hey, the whole Biblical mythos really pivots on the theme of Freedom. We are determined by our limited nature, but given our limitations, we are still Free to choose living for the Will of GOD or our own desire-bound will. Crucifying one's ego - ego death, laying down one's own will [ego] means choosing to be motivated by THAT Transcendental Will that we experience at the heights of Cosmic Consciousness. It is THE WAY to ultimate fulfillment.
Yes Dear Friends, you are not wrong about your Ecstatic Entheogenic Enthusiasm (Enthusiasm has a French root equivalent to entheo - God within), but many of you downright refuse to put on your Biblical 3-D viewers to see 'It' in the Biblical context of GOD. How does one 'KNOW' the Will of GOD one may ask? GOD's Will in the Human Being comes through the motive of Compassion, directed toward Union both 'vertically,' (toward Union with GOD) and 'horizontally,' (Love of one's 'neighbor'). BEING the kind of Human BEING that lives in this dual transcendental mode, is to do the Will of GOD, Biblically understood. It is THE WAY (to BE).
