A Little Help Needed

OK, casing layer was 100% colonized a couple days ago, so I started giving 12 hours of light per day. Temps are @85 with humidity @93%. The casings are lightly misted once daily. It seems that the mycellium has stopped colonizing. I have read that before pinning, a growth stoppage is normal. Is this correct? Thanks so much for any help given.

yes But (me personally) stop misting this is most cases(but not necasarily in yours) will stop the casing from pinning because the water can not be used and puts a coating of stale water on the top?? hope this helps

With that much moisture (rH) and those high temps, you run the risk of contamination. I'd say stop misting right away. You can let the temps drop some too. At this point, you're going to want to introduce some fresh air by fanning or whatever to control the temps and humidity in there. After that, you should see some pins.

What are you casing with? In general you shouldn't let the casing colonize 100% before applying fruiting conditions--try doing it at 30-40%. Anyway, you probably have overlay and you need to sterilize a fork and go around the casing layer about every inch or so and stick the fork in to just below the surface(1/4in) and wiggle it around just a little bit. After you do this give it a decent misting then fruiting parameters with at least a couple hours of light a day. --Dv
