there was a thread about cats & other pets some time ago.. as i was reading it, i started wondering what would it be like to interact with KIDS while being high.. psychedelics weaken all the social shit you usually obey, so you become more like a kid and maybe you could communicate with children better; on the other hand, i remember how confusing it was when i was a kid & my parents got drunk once in a while.. i just didn't know what was happening, things weren't in their right place & i didn't like being with them at all. i would love to know what you think about this (if someone has an experience, that's even better)..

Well, I have a son and I trip around the house all the time. I try not to be around him as much though. It's really wacked out! I find you can understand their whole level 100%, but you sort of enter their level at the same time. So you communicate much better, but you loose the responsible reasoning you should always have. Keep in mind, they are always learning and mimicing you. So I don't think it's that great of an idea for a small child to be learning from someone half way to skitsofrania for 8 hours. ;-)

I've been around my little brothers tripping before. They aren't exactly really young but it kind of fits. My youngest brother and I both play guitar and i played with him once while tripping and it was fun as hell. But usually I didn't stick around much for the same reasons Hydro mentioned. Tripping around old people is kind of strange too. i came home about 4 or five hours into a mushy trip and my grandparents were visiting at the time. i sat and talked with them for longer than i think i ever had in my life. the conversation had so much more depth and content than most conversations I've had with them. It made me look at them in a whole new light. Like i finally respected the fact that they have been around for so much longer than me. It felt so good to hear their point of view and talk about all the shit that they had been through in their lives. I gained a lot of respect for them that day. it was probably the first time I was able to talk to them without it feeling forced. You know how it was with your grandparents when you were younger. Like you felt like you had to talk to them because they always gave you presents and you never really got to see them much. Plus since I was towards the end of the trip i wasn't acting strange. I know what you mean about it being really strange when you were little and your parents got drunk. I remember watching my parents parties from the upstairs balcony where they couldn't see me. It really baffled me to see them behave like that. i had no idea what was going on or that they were being influenced by a drug. It was funny to see them dancing and singing and being silly but at the same time confusing because you wondered why they weren't like that normally.

Thats an interesting concept that I havent considered before. I would like to expiriment with it, by maybe interacting with a child for a short period of time, but I wouldnt feel comfortable doing that with my kid (if i had one). As hydro said, they look up to you and mimic you. Especially when you're their parent.

I find children very akward when i trip. But their innocence gives off those wonderful vibes.
I remember when i was young my mother used to get high and try to talk to me. I didn't know that she was high, or even that she wasn't normal. She just came and asked me one day (when i was ~6), "Have you ever noticed how cats are like little aliens. They're like small people that live with us."
I think that was the single most devastating comment of my childhood. Can you imagine the effects that kind of thing has on a small child?
After a certain point in your life, if someone asks you a strange question like that [when you're sober], you'll probably just answer, "no... what the hell are you on?", but a 6 year old kid will think, "No... i've never really thought about like that before... Wow... this changes everything..."

this is what makes me so upset about the war on drugs. it's not the drugs themselves, it's the THINKING and the QUESTIONING state of mind. Drugs make you think.

So if you go up to someone, you're in a great mood, and you ask them something "deep" like that.... they're going to think you're on drugs, and because they think you're on drugs they automatically assume that anything that you TRUELY understand is WRONG and they won't give you the time of day.
What the fuck is wrong with humans? I've theorized that since we're so fucked up as a species, there has to be a form of life higher than us, that hopefully the more "in tune" of us will evolve into soon, or rebirth into soon.
But yes, children are extremely strange creatures..... especially those that do not live dogmatically through conditioning.... interacting with them high would be really different.....

when ever I trip my son head looks like a mushroom
He helps me mist my shrooms...... he loves them
he has his own water bottle with his name on it and I have my own so we can do it together he also helps with F.A.E.

as long as one of the parent is present sober (what will you do if your kid was outside playing, got hit by a car and you was tripping balls) i dont see any problems with that, i personally will not do this., i will however teach my kids how to take care for my peyotes and I intend to give my kids a peyote when they are 20 years old (the peyote will also than be 20 years old, i have two kids and i have for each kid grown 5 peyote each the same month they was born)
