poll about bush (mostly for repubs/neocons)
    #3188867 - 09/27/04 10:00 PM (19 years, 6 months ago)

this poll is mostly for repubs and neocons. today in public policy class a disucussion broke out about bush having a hand in/knowing about 9/11. one of the bush supporters in my class said that even if bush let 9/11 happen he would still vote for him....basically his reasoning was sometimes things have to be ton to froce the population into doing stuff that needs to be done......thats sick if ya ask me...so what about u guys?
Would you still vote for Bush even if there was rock-solid evidence linking him to the 9/11 crimes?
You may choose only one

im not a neocon :smirk:..so i have to answer that i wont vote for bush..period...

but my gut feeling is that there are appalling numbers of americans who dont necessarily call themselves "neocons".. and who are willing to concede the possibility that bush was complicit in 9/11.. but who also believe that if its so then it had to be done.. they will check one of the other 3 radio buttons accordingly...

10,000 dead iraqis later, they're no freer and the U.S. is no safter. Bush failed, it's time to hand him a pink slip.

According so far to this poll, Bush should have about a 0% approval rating (assuming the vote was not entirely limited to repubs & neos). It's unfortunate that if bush loses, it seems likely that cousin Kerry might just end up picking up where he left off.. =/

Ain't that the truth...

To call humans 'rational beings' does injustice to the term, 'rational.'  Humans are capable of rational thought, but it is not their essence.  Humans are animals, beasts with complex brains.  Humans, more often than not, utilize their cerebrum to rationalize what their primal instincts, their preconceived notions, and their emotional desires have presented as goals - humans are rationalizing beings.

What is a Neocon?
by rollie at 09:38AM (PDT) on May 25, 2004 | Permanent Link

The term "neocon" gets tossed around from time to time on the news and in print. If you don't know what the term means, you may be in for a surprise. If you think you know what it means, you might still be surprised.

The modern conservative movement, prior to World War II, was largely isolationist. But the second great war changed a lot of minds among conservatives about foreign interactions, leading to the "new conservative" or "neocon" movement. Once we had been attacked on our own soil by Japan, it became clear that the United States would have to establish a presence around the world and to maintain relations with other like-minded nations. Under the Truman Doctrine, "like-minded" came to mean "not communist", but that's another issue.

Since most polititions are not isolationists in the modern day, then what is the big deal about the word "neocon"? After all, almost everyone is for us defending our allies, right?

The term has a connotation that not many outside the Washington Beltway understand. If you see it in print somewhere, you need to examine it closely. When someone says "neocon", it is often code for another word that they'd like to use: Jew.

The neocon movement was made largely of American Jews who wanted the United States to be a strong ally of the newly-formed Israeli state, as most politions claim to feel to this day. Because of this, many anti-semetic politions considered neocons to be part of the Zionist movement or even felt that they were trying to take over our federal government. The same ridiculous theory continues today among elites who will occasionally let the term slip. Sadly, there are still a lot of people out there who fear the "Jewish world conspiracy" and believe that the only reason we remain Israel's strongest ally is because of ever-present neocon influence in the White House.

Those who use the term publicly will of course deny that they mean "Jew" when they say it, but you can connect the dots if you listen to the context of what is being said. The term is used almost exclusively in conversations pertaining to imperialism (part of the "world conspiracy") or Israel.

Bush failed America and the world, but I think he did exactly as he planned with Iraq.
