Is the vermiculite supposed to kind of look like sand or did my friend buy the wrong kind? Thank you all

8 quarts is enough to do about 4 dozen 1/2 pint jars. You'll want to get some brown rice flour too, usually available at health food stores.

I went to a organic store today, I went up to the counter with about 2 lbs of BRF and the guy at the counter was hippie hands down. He asked me what I was baking I smiled and said it was for my mom. He laughed and said of course he knew what was up :laugh:

That's cool. Never tell people strait out what you are up to though. Even friends can be dangerous will a little knowledge. Just some advice.

8 quarts of verm lasts me about a week. They say I should cut back but man I NEED my verm. They just don't understand..

As to that whole not telling people things..if I were to have a grow it would be able to put out 10-20 pounds (depending on contams, strains, you know bad stuff happens sometimes) and would be able to stay hidden within 3 closets (one for incubation and drying and two for fruiting). All locked of course. All supplies that were suspicious could be kept in the incubation closet and friends and family and anyone could come over and never know about the grow. Living in an apartment too. Not that I don't trust my friends but you never know when someones gonna be drunk or tripping and let something slip to someone else then that person lets it slip and you got a huge leak. Soon everyone knows you grow and thats bad for prices and police. So yeah..just keep your low down on the low down and stress to your best friends that you tell that the secret is important to be kept. This is of course just what I would do if I were to partake in something as illegal as cultivating mushrooms.

Agree 100%. With all the excitment of a first grow it is very difficult not to mention it. Although, when you find out that someone knows who you didn't intend on knowing you will regret it. It is one of those secrets that many people find just too good to keep. So.. unless you want to be ridden with anxiety, silence, other that maybe a few best friends, is a HUGE risk...

Step 1: Purchase a fire-arm. Preferably a handgun that is easily concealed.

Step 2: Load the gun.

Step 3: Throw the gun in your gun cabinet and lock it, don't shoot people with it, you freaking criminal.

Step 4: Don't tell anyone you are growing mushrooms, if you are. If you live where it's illegal, you shouldn't grow, well... because it's illegal.

yeah thats tru dont let no one know cuz there is always goin to be a hater out there and will trick.n plus people then goin want u to hook them up alot. people knew that i grew in the past. now that im starting up agian no one knows that im growin and if they ask me i just say that i have a hook up now. but yeah keep it on the low low its better.peace
