cakes very dry b4 cased

i broke open my cakes for casing and they were all pretty dry, is that a bad thing?? what do i do to fix tghis problem? i put them on a moist verm layer and crumbled, then i put a moist verm layer on top to cover and put 3 layers of seran wrap over it all with holes punched in. i have the casing in my terraium where the humidty is like around 90 as well as the temp. is thi sok or should i have the humidty lower

if you notice this next time as soon as you break them id suggest putting them back together in the jar and dunking. understand its hard to determine just how dry they are but you can try this. cakes that are very dry are hard to crumble and have hardened around the cake instead of being soft and crumbly. so you have added a moist casing layer good. now you want to mist the casing directly with lets say 4 direct mists depending on the size of the casing (how many cakes?). id use 4 for a 2 caker, adjust accordingly. dont soak it but you have to get water in there or it will just contaminate while u wait. do this today and tomorrow then stop and leave it in the dark for 2 more days, then check it. maintain the 90 humidty. hope it helps

i sprayed them and while i was openin them it seemed that all the existing crumbled casing was hit up wiith bluish green bruising. is this ok?? im really gettin worried my whole thing is gone. thnx for any advice
