Clean Air Time
    #318586 - 05/16/01 04:26 PM (15 years, 6 months ago)

Today i purchased a timer for the fish tank pump im using to humidify and provide clean air to my hands free terrarium.
It is digital and capable of programming 14 on and off setpoints.I was considering using 12 of them and have it pump for an hour then sit for an hour over and over for a 24 hr. period.
This is only for the fruiting stage. Do you guys think this is good or is it to much ?
Thank you ,

There are a couple digital hygrometers that'll keep min/max values. Something like that might be helpful in debugging your setup. Otherwise, it's hard to say without knowing the dimensions, pump displacement, etc.

What was the brand of the timer you got? I can't find any with that many setpoints.

Its called a "Intermatic"DT17 Digital Timer. I'm not really using it to debug anything. Until now I've been using another timer on/off twice a day for 3 hours. When it stays on that long the top of my terrarium gets alot of condensation so i wanted it to be on for a shorter period of time yet more often. The only real concern i have is, can you constantly pump fresh air into it at the fruiting stage or do you want some CO2 build up to take place?
Thankyou

Oxygen when fruiting. CO2, during vegetative (mycelial) growth.

Thanx "puscle" I'll run it the way i described this should keep the condensation level down and the oxygen level up.

Very good, then. The natural order is now restored. Praise the Lord! I am so very high.
