Its not really a powder but a fiber. It can be found in hydro shops and pet stores. So yes you can use that.

On the left is expanded coco coir. On the right is coco fiber, which is NOT what you want!
You can use peat based potting soil if this is available where you live.

The one on the right is the one i get, i figured that was what he meant. It comes in a big compressed block like he was talking about. But i have expreimented with the fibre and it worked to case with. When it came to picking the mushies it kinda fucked everything up.

Go to the pet store and ask for some coco coir lizard bedding. Its called eco earth i think. Its comes in a really solic brick and will expand a ton when crumbled and added to water. I bet they sell it where you live, search far and wide.

Yes you can . Just place the brick of coir in aprx 1\2 -3\4 of a gallon of water and then fluff it up once it expands , store the unneeded portion in large zip loc bag . Yes coir is excellent choice for casings . Yes you can mix in some peat if you would like . Bed a beast is good for this and can be obtained at Petsmart .

I walked into Petco (where i was told to go for this) and asked for coco coir, and the chick looked at me like i was nutz or something. After wondering around by lizard supplies i noticed a brick of eco earth! If you need to find this, go to a petco and ask for eco earth lizard bedding. Peace guys.

I called several garden supply stores in town and each lady I talked with acted as though they had never heard of coco coir before. And they weren't very nice either....
Props to whomever suggested Bed A Beast and other lizard-related coco products. Had no problems finding those.
