Some of the caps are indeed producing reasonable sporeprints but most of the caps don't drop any spores. As soon as MushMush opens we will be able to sell these. They are the same strain as Workmans. (Pajaritos)
We use 720 ml applesauce jars (cheapest there are LOL)
Need spores? We got spores!

Excellent work Una! I salute your mycological skills. We are working on the invitro sclerotia problem and we think we have isolated a better strain that doesn't stall. This new strain has been developed from a different genetic line and shows a lot of promise.
Good luck in your vending endeavors!

What are sclerotia used for? What are they?
Why are they so desireable?

In reply to:
they are very interesting to watch grow
I thought there was a darkness requirement for sclerotia growth. How do you watch them grow?

Darkness meaning you incubate them in darkness. Watching them, meaning removing them from there incubation box and viewing them. Don't worry they wont pin or stop because of short term exposure to the light in your room. You don't want to incubate them under light.
Una stated that the tampanensis sclerotia grew no matter what. Mine are in a box, so they only get light when I inspect.
P.S. I wasn't joking, they look like marshmellows, lightly tanned, smashed against the sides of the jar. Very interesting stuff.

Cool. I guess I got the wrong impression from something I read. I doubt I could go without peeking anyway. ;)
Anyone know if there's a substrate that works better for spore production?

Nice mushies Una! Mexicanas just keep finding a way to tempt me into ordering a few prints ; )
Also, how high of a humidity did you use when cultivating those babies?

Una,
Will you have a storefront in NL? If so, I should be back in the next few months, and would like to visit a good sporewinkel.

effecient way to get biomass from mexicana,
cuz they have typically small fruits...
like 40% dry matter as opposed to 8% from shrooms
how hard is it to get subs. outta those applesauce jars?cleaning? narrow mouths suck for those reasons, found a lady selling wide jars for 3$ a doz...

How does screlotia compare to mushrooms in potency and trip quality? I also assume that screlotia is faster to produce and the procedure is simpler, is this correct?
