does anyone have experience with using antibiotics in liquid and agar mycelial culture?
@ what mg/ml concentrations should amp, chloramphenicol, tetracycline, kanamycin, etc... be used at?

I have some aquatic antibiotics from the pet store that I'm fully prepared to use if necessary. It's called "Maracin II". Regular "Maracin" has fungicide also, so don't get that.

unless you are going to put them in after you sterilize you MEA. they will not work they can not withstand the heat of the sterilizer

Gantamicin(gentamycin) sulfate is heat resistant and can be used in agar at a rate of 100 mg/liter of agar medium if bacteria contamination is an issue.

Agreed. Hopefully there are no fungal spores in the tablets..

So far I've been able to beat out all agar contams through transfers. I know that one day there'll be that clone from the wild that's gonna need an anti-biotic treatment. So it's sittin' here just in case.
