Unsuccesful hunt in Ballard
    #3183435 - 09/26/04 08:04 PM (12 years, 2 months ago)

Well, another year, another couple of weeks of fruitless shroom hunts.  What the hey...I was going to a bike ride anyway right?

Ballard is my hood, north of Seattle.  Saturday was nice and sunny, so I headed down to Golden Gardens.  Came across this:

A large white shroom just emerging out of some mulched (unknown wood) shrubery.  This was near the new hot-dog place on Market, which by the way, I do not recommend.  The chilli was watery and their "New Yark Dog" was fresh, not floating in dirty water like they are supposed to be...

Anyway, further on down near the Sound I came across these:

It was a really nice day yesterday, and friday afternoon had been quite sunny as well, so these little guys were all shrivly and dry.  I have again place my nasty chewed up fingers next to the shrooms for scale.

This is my 5th fall hunting actives in Seattle.  Will this be my year?  Who knows...

At least the day was nice, and people watching down at the park is always fun.

Good luck all!

:sun:

indeed, I think it's still too early as well...

the woodchips in that second pic look prime though, keep checkin spots where you see that mulch and you will definitely hit a patch sooner or later .

I love it how Ballard doesn't think that they are part of Seattle.

I've had some success in Ballard.  Pretty close to where you took your first pic

I heard if you go to Ballard... stop on market street and ask, they have people who can help you get free Tibet.
