Freaks/Weirdos

In real life, meaning not in cyberspace, I would consider myself to be a freak. I am that because everyone else judges and labels me as what I am thus making me be what I am. I am not sure if you might understand... Well, probably I don't know. I am really not like everyone else and I blend not really well with the rest of the picture sometimes if you know what I mean. But, I do dress casually, decent pants along with t-shirts,etc. What about people who dress as punks, as I may call them, or skin heads, or just plain weirdos... are they really weird or do they just want to look weird? Who is the bigger freak, the one that really is but hides it or the one who dresses like one?

if they have a suitable label or designation (ie "skinheads, goths, punks") then they are not different, they are sheep, followers, people who try too hard to fit in by adopting an existing fashion. craving acceptance while convincing themselves they dont need or want it. karma chameleons. it takes far more courage to be real. if anyone calls you weird, call them fake. or if they treat you badly let them know what self-serving cowards they are. remember of course these people have mental blocks and long before you ever get through their walls of ignorance and defence mechanisims they will either try to escape with the last word or become phyisical. evryone is fucked up, and those who try not to be fuck themselves up more. its called free will.if we all thought the same we would all be sane, but we arent are we? those who think we do end up trying too hard to be this idyllic persona of "normal" and begin to see things not in black and white, but rather shades of grey, trying to please all mindsets of all people, to fit in evrywhere. what will happen? well first all people start to seem the same, then perhaps they will appear robotic. by this point the "conformist" has become so neurotic he/she is prone to depression and delusion. and probably hides from society. for sanities sake, you should probably pick a particular persona and run with it. if you dont have a clear and recognizeable personality type from the long list of existing idiums, then people will find you un-interresting, bland, borring, etc. and then seek out others in the same troupe as you. life is better that way. case in point, you're a shroomerty. thats a sorta drug-user/computer-geek personality. :)

Mich, that makes alot of sense. I play bass guitar, I play with synths, and the saxophone. I do not watch TV but you could say I use computers instead. You could also say that I'm an entheonaut. To sum it all together you get the musicly inclined computer freak drug user So that makes me weird to the eyes of others, than it's their problem really, not mine... Point is I have picked a particular persona from the list already

You young freaks have it easier these days, I skated in the mid 80's so I was a freak, got my eyebrow pierced in 91..again a freak....I don't even see freakish things anymore(although bellbottoms scare me), the times are-a-changing.....

I'm kind of a freak.. nothng out of the ordinary.. If you saw me, you'd assume I was a normal looking average 20 year old skater/punk/pothead, but once you get to know me watch out, cause I'm a fucking maniac.. J/K... he he he. Although I am a *little* strange....
Show me a hero, and i'll write you a tragedy.

I take pride in my differences. If people think I'm wierd i could care less. I like what mitchnast said a lot. Karma Chameleons, I'll have to remember that one. You sound pretty similiar to me Techno shaman. I dress casually. I play guitar, like to program music on my computer, and mess around with synths. I hardly ever watch TV. I haven't had cable for six months now and I don't miss it a bit, Except for the simpsons and a few other shows. But I just go over to friends houses when i want to watch those. I'm constantly on the computer instead though. It's a great creative/communcation tool for me. TV is just too god damned passive and most everything on TV isn't worth my time. i also have a great interest in entheonogens. I don't ever really get called a freak or wierd but if people get into a conversation with me about drugs most are a little shocked about how much i know. I get a lot of sideways glances and wierd looks after people get into conversations with me about drugs. I've been described as an "informed stoner" on more than one occassion (which i kind of take as a compliment even if it wasn't meant to be one). Most people just use my interest in drugs to try and discount my opinions and way of thinking as being nothing but drug induced bullshit. Most people still believe that people who use drugs couldn't possibly have a valid opinion or have a clear and rational point of view. It's like mitchnast said, people who try to be anything other than themselves are just fake. Be true to yourself and don't listen to anyone who trys to tell you who or what you are.
Excessive use of technology will eventually enslave mankind.

Freaks, grungers, punks, weirdos, whatever are not true to themselves, in my opinion. When you stop to think about for a minute you realize that they are all just trying to be different by conforming to a huge group of people that are all trying to be diffrerent. Not make any sense huh? When you think about it 'alternative' music should be called 'pop' as it is by far the most popular music these days. Every young person seem to listen the marilyn manson or some other stupid shit - but if everyone does it it is no longer different, huh? BTW, if you are really 'freak' then who cares! Be a 'freak' and be proud! Freaky people are often most interesting.

theres 6 billion people, you will drive yourself crazy trying to be an individual, and then youll end up in a mental ward with many others just like you who drove themselves crazy trying to be different only to end up surrounded by people the same as themselves. its ironic eh? all that work and they will place you back at square one :) the paradox of human individuality. individ= nondividable duality is like caling reality a 2-sided coin. individ duality what a neat word. its practically a paradox in itself and lexically cancels itself out. can individuality exist or is it a fantasy? those who see themselves most different, most unique, tend to be dreamers. those who fit in. who are they? maybe its me, maybe its you. a freak, i would immagine could only be defined as a physical mutant that lives his life as a color or scent. that would be freaky. but anything looking remotely human that excersizes self-awareness has been done!
