how inconsiderate not to post a recipie for shrimp with the dip,

step one: buy shrimp from the market
2: shell and devain, rinse
3: dip in a sauce of butter and milk, and then roll it a store bought box of 'deep fry mix'
4: fry- temp is KEY.. you need the oil HOT , around 350-400, if it is not hot enough you will get oil soggy shrimp.. you need to crisp the batter and get them out... it will be enough to cook the shrimp inside, golden brown= key

"Deep fry mix"

THAT IS BLASPHEMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The REAL way to fry shrimp:

Just throw some cornmeal,milk,an egg,with a little salt,and a little baking powder together. Powder the shrimp with black pepper,salt,and if you want some cayanne,then dip in the batter and drop in the hot oil. That's southern cooking. If you have to be anal about everything and can only cook by following exact recipes, then here, I found you a recipe on google, I don't use flour though:

* 3 cups large peeled and deveined shrimp
* 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
* 1/4 teaspoon pepper
* 1 egg, well beaten
* 1/2 cup half-and-half or milk
* 1/4 teaspoon salt
* 1/2 cup yellow cornmeal
* 1/2 cup flour
* 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
* oil for deep frying

Season shrimp with 1 1/2 teaspoons salt and the pepper; let stand at room temperature for 10 to 15 minutes. Combine egg, cream, cornmeal, flour, baking powder and remaining salt in small mixing bowl; mix until well blended and smooth. Heat oil in deep fryer to 350?. Add batter mixture to shrimp; stir until shrimp are well coated. Drop shrimp in deep, hot fat in batches. Fry until light golden brown, about 2 to 4 minutes.
