the zippers are stuck on to the plastic, then zipped up and cut behind to make a doorway...(specially made for polyvinyl films and plastic-green house supply)
by attaching hepa to cool mist you get increased airflow and more humidity..
everything can be broken down...
thinking about adding a ultrasonic to aiflow on top ventilation tube, and coolmist to bottom (new design added another tube not in pic)
also light is horizontally on wall
no escape vents are needed (positive pressure pushes air out through bottom water collector)
but you can put one on bottom,by silicone-ing a fd to plastic
best of all it cost less than $40 for tent and all (assuming you already have hepa, humidifier, lights, and gauges)
plus the cost for zippers ($12.95)

I think what you are planning is already available at K-mart. I just got it a couple days ago.

One Martha Stewart stationary storage closet ($25) comes with vented vinyl enclosure complete with a floor, and zippered door. And it will fit in the volume you mentioned.

Also in the same aisle, I picked up two chrome shelf units. One with wheels and 3 wire shelves ($20), the other stationary with 2 shelves ($15). They are modular (and the shelves adjust in 1 inch increments) so I stacked one on the other inside the vinyl closet, put a flourescent on top, and ran 3/8" tubing from an ultrasonic through the small gap where the vertical and horizontal zippers come together.

So far I think it's the best $60 I've spent in a long time. I can fit 10 1 sq. ft. trays in it. But I only have 1 :-/

ok...so technically speaking this is not"closet' cultivation but it has worked for us for some years now.
We grow the mushrooms in plastic bins covered with polyethylene sheeting. The bins are stackable and up to 11 stories fit under the ceiling. I don't think any other system is this space efficient. No active aereation is used, just some holes in the sides of the bins.
Casings are misted each day...

looks pretty space saving...
try packing some more in (need some free air space...)

And probably pretty easy to work in (small spaces), still modular with trays...

Actually these bins are quite easy to work with. Beacuse you can put the bins on a table for instance, you can always work at the ideal height (no bending over)...and again 11 stories high....we are able to grow 11 kilograms of fresh mushrooms in 3 flushes (1 month) on a floor surface of 2400 square centimeters.....this comes down to 44 kilograms per square meter/month! This IS space efficient

There is air exchange... humid air pumped in, plus there are small vent grommets on the top and bottom of the 2 sides. Even when the humidifier fan isn't running, fresh air is constantly drawn in the top as co2 falls out of the bottom.

*definately not as space efficient as above methods, but it sure looks purdy.

I love your pics triple 3, where those mush grown in the setup you described before? I found an old metal bookcart, made from steel with 3 big shelves, the only problem is that the light distribution isn't so great with the metal shelves, and I will need to punch holes in them for the tubing from my humidifier. I'm gonna try to put some plexiglass on that and see how I like it. If its not so great I'll probably go to K-mart and get some shelving and see if thats any better. I love your ideas guys, some of you have nice setups. I'm leaning away from the stackable shelves because they sound like too much maintenance.

The shelves I refer to are very easy to work with. No tools, easy to clean chrome finish, and light enough to lift out the entire unit.

I was using the setup within an hour after purchase including drive time. And the little kiddies love it. I have no condensation issues, but if I do, I already have a simple solution.

I like to make my own stuff, but when the same concept is already available so cheap and easy, I can't pass it up.

I will try to build one soon, but need something to go by, my mind gets to abstract to construct something like this from scratch. lol if yall know what I mean : ) But if ya have Pics, please post em, or send them to my e-mail address. Also if ya have not built it yet, do you have any detailed specs? They will work just as well. If ANYONE else has built this type of "Chamber" please post, or send the specs.

Man, thats a nice room. I would love to have something like that for my work. But I am poor, I really mean poor. I just enjoy this hobby, and want a larger "room". Thanks for the site, maybe in the future, or someone else could use it.

This is a post with obvious implications to sell. One person even says taking them to the local farmers market. One person cannot have enough friends to give that many mushrooms away. tisk tisk tisk. But this is interesting all the neat designs. 44kilos per month. 4.4kilos dry!!! per month!!!!! you obviously don't live in the US but other people here do and should be stanked.

Of course I sell my oyster mushrooms at the farmers market, best place to get fresh mushrooms.  Seriously, this isn't a big full time mushroom production machine, and I would never even think about selling, although 4 kilos of shrooms coming up would be an amazing sight;).
Today I just read a post by 3M where he hooked 10 sterilite storage containers to one humidifier.  I'm starting to like the multiple storage containers idea, because it is easier to expand, and if I only have 3 trays on a big shelf system made for 10 I will have a lot of empty space, I can always just disconnect extra storage bins though.  Also, seeing as how its mold season, the seperate containers would help protect from contams being spread from tray to tray.  Anways, he's either going to try the metal shelfs, or the multiple bins, probably make both and see what works better.  It could be a week before these are ever made, but I'll be sure to post pictures when I'm done.
