Milkdrop
    #3178905 - 09/25/04 02:45 PM (13 years, 1 day ago)

Milkdrop is without a doubt the best visualization program i've ever seen! This picture is from the Rovastar - The Shroomery preset, truley a nice preset, you can even see little mushies in it!

go to http://www.milkdrop.co.uk/ and download "All regulars presets from July (07/2003) to September (09/2003) 2003", it's the first one on their downloads page. Install, and when you start milkdrop, press 'L' on the keyboard and then press enter on 'Show all presets' or something like that, and scroll down to 'Rovastar - The Shroomery' to start that preset! It's a badass preset, press scroll lock to make it stay on that preset and not go on to the next one.

Wow thats really cool, I've been using milkdrop for a long time and never knew you could select em like that. I can't find the shroomery one, might need to reboot my comp first. Thanks though.

Alright, here's complete instructions with download links for those of you who cant figure it out on your own:

1) Download winamp if you dont have it. If you dont want to download much, download winamp lite and install it. Then download and install milkdrop. If you dont care how much you download, i recommend getting the full version of winamp. The full version of winamp already has milkdrop packaged in it so you dont need to worry about downloading milkdrop.

2)Download and install the All regulars presets from July (07/2003) to September (09/2003) 2003. This package contains 'The Shroomery' preset.

3)Press Ctrl+K in winamp and click on milkdrop. This makes milkdrop your default visualization engine. To start milkdrop, press ctrl+shift+K in winamp. If milkdrop doenst run very fast on your computer, optimize milkdrop's settings to your machine using milkdrop's readme.

4)Start Milkdrop, press the 'L' button, Press enter on [All Presets] to show the new presets you installed, scroll down to 'Rovastar - The Shroomery' and press enter to load that preset. If you want it to stay on that preset and not go onto the next one, press scroll lock. You're done!

Anyone know of a way to play Milkdrop off of your songs through iTunes? It's what I use as my media player, but Winamp has more visualization programs.

Yeah I did the shroomery preset for you guys here soemtime ago now.

I will get an R4 scene at some point too.

One day I'll updtae my www.milkdrop.co.uk website as it is out of date. But most of the time now is spent on R4. Some of the scenes need some work but getting better esp my last few that will be avaiable in the next version of R4. With thanks to Effed the shroomery mod for the great textures.

More vises in the shroomery Wiki that I added a few weeks ago

http://shroomery.org/wiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MusicVisualizations

Enjoy.
