Couple Newbie Questions
    #3178658 - 09/25/04 01:09 PM (13 years, 2 months ago)

I am currently using a new Pressure Cooker for the first time (22qt Mirro) and was wondering if the "rocking" of the weight is to be taken literally?  Mine is just kind of "jiggling" and allowing steam to escape.

Also, I was wondering if anyone could tell me roughly how long the water in their incubator lasts.  Not before it needs to be changed, but rather before it evaporates?  (still kind of nervous leaving the fish tank heater on when im away from the house  I am using about 4 gallons of water.  Lastly, my daily temps inside the incubation chamber ranges between 81 and 85 degrees, with my heater set to 80 degrees.  Should I drop the temp of the heater a degree to get that 85 temp down one degree or so, or is that about right?

Thanks in advance

The Mirro needs to giggle ay least 4-5 times a minute no more, this will maintain a constant pressure without loosing excess water and running your cooker dry (yes it can be done!) Taken right from the owners manual.
