hypnosis, the key to self improvment
    #3178157 - 09/25/04 06:43 AM (12 years, 9 months ago)

I was reading some articles lately about using hypnosis for self healing. As i very much like parapsichology and read and know much preety much about it, i was thinking about trying the self hypnosis ( deep trance ) method ...
But im a little bit worried if something goes wrong and i fuck up my self in the state of hypnosis ...

There are realy many things that could change if you contact your unconscious mind ...

What do you think about this kind of self improvment ?

You might want to go see a prof hypnotherapist first so he can start you out and help you formulate the suggestions that are going to work for you.

If you dont want to go that route then try suggestions on a tape recorder playing the first two hours of sleep or the last one hour before you wake, those are the best windows of opportunity.

And its pretty hard to "fuck yourself up", just dont tell yourself to never wake up

Also i recommend just reading every book you can find on the subject.

I started a couple weeks ago and successfully hypnotized my gf a couple days ago.  Oh yeah, and visualization is key.

Watch yourself with hypnotizing yourself. It can have some real effects.

You are better paying a professional.

I would suggest going to a hypnotherapist. I know one that is certified and, for 85 bills, will hypnotize you, give you positive suggestions, and teach you how to do self hypnosis. It's actually bad for his business because people won't come back to him once they do self hypnosis, but oh well. Be sure the guy knows what he's doing to improve the chances of improving yourself.

~
also:

neurolinguistic programming (NLP)

& masters & houston: _mind games_ (& some of their other books)

laura huxley: _you are not the target_

& grof: holotropic breathwork groups

all of 'em use "hypnoid" states for working on the ol' wetware...

I intend to try hypnosis sometime within the next few months. I plan to see a professional.

Yeah, Milton Erickson's the shiznit. I'm gonna become a certified hypnotherapist and work in the field all thanks to my man Erickson's influence.

A professional would be best. And make sure they know what they're doing cuz i have met some stupid/bad hypnotherapists before.

I just hypnotised myself with a guided CD.  It was very strange,  all I had to do was put the CD on, listen and follow along.  It put me in a very deep state of relaxation and I found myself in a strange space similar to being half in and half out of a deep sleep but still concious, if that is making any sense.  I am going to continue practising witht this CD, this was an experiment on my part, I wasn't really sure about it and I think it will probably work a little better now than I know it isn't some BS and will be going in with a little faith.

I've felt alot calmer and generally more relaxed since I came out 45 minutes ago
