today on the news and online it has been announced that medicinal marijuana for any reasons is banned in cali..where i live...http://www.msn.com -- look at the headlines

We're all mad here...

Dude Sean, that's casue all the people who were prescribed it were dealin it out. And also cause people like my grandfather were giving out prescriptions left and right. And no one was being cautious or anything. That's the main reason why. But it's not like you ever got your hands on that stuff, so why bother to complain unless you were getting it weekly or something like that.

Always interesting when a 10 year-old thread gets resurrected, but it is timely.

From what I understand, the Feds are not currently shutting down 100% of the dispensaries in California -- they're supposed to be focusing on those in the vicinity of "schools, parks, and playgrounds." What that really means remains to be seen.
It's not too surprising really; the only thing that surprises me is it's happening under the current administration. This is the kind of thing that can occur when a state tries to supersede federal law and authority. Marijuana is a Schedule I drug and has been completely banned for any purpose since 1970. Among many other challenges, the Schedule I status is the underlying problem and I'm afraid it's going to stay that way for quite some time. But this is very upsetting and may be enough for me not to vote for the Obama administration a second time.
