Yet another pinning question...
    #3174740 - 09/24/04 11:39 AM (19 years, 6 months ago)

K, so in my second "invitro experiment" I have decided to take a fully colonized full-pint, and place it into a clear rubbermaid. I have a heating pad covered in cloth underneath, and the temp. is at 82-83. Today I finally took the covering to expose the jar to indirect sunlight. My question is this: should I now lower the temp to get it to pin invitro, or will it pin fine at 82-83 degrees?

You could cold shock, but you should definately lower the temps to the lower to mid 90's for fruiting. It will do much better.

Domey, he didn't take it out of the jar, just put it in the clear rubbermaid for the clear sides so he can get light to it.

Ok, the post above me wasn't there when I typed this.

Maybe he means he put the jar in the rubbermaid while it was actually still in the jar.

deffinetly lower the temps dude they will pin at 82 degrees. but theyll probably take forever to do so your better off with temps in the 70-75 degree range.

So 75 degerees for pinning invitro? 84 for incubation, then lower to 75 for pinning?
