 PF or not to PF?

Ive been wondering what tek is the best to follow. I was thinking of using the PF tek but instead of whole cakes in my terrium i would case it using 50/50+ casing mixture. Im either gonna be using an ultrasonic terrium or an open terrium with a warm air humidifier near by all stuck in a small room (Probabley wont work...) Give me some feed back...

its your first time. dont go to hard on yourself. thats what happend to me. i bought a fancy expensive kit and took his advice only to find the nicest batch of dacylium youve everseen {cobweb mold:} just youse perlite a tuperwear container or somthing misting or an ultrasonic fogger... i like some people hate em... but im a newbie and its worked for me. as for casing your first time . just grow some shrooms and be happy. begin to learn what they like. what the respond to. just keep your humidty high and fresh air coming in. ive spent well over a thousand dollars and have only harvested my second flush of one cake and have another pinning.... make it easier on yourself

I'd case using straight verm. Less chance of contams and just as easy as cakes i think

yep, purplehaze32 is on it. why is it that all newbie's want to get the cart before they get the horse?? here's what U should do, make up some jars case half and grow the other half in cakes, that way if your casing gets contams all won't be lost and U will get to see both teks first hand.

I agree that you should keep a few cakes in a seperate container and uncased just to help increase the chance that you don't mess up. I'm assuming you don't have that many spores yet, so try and get you a few spore prints before you try anything harder. Also, another way to save up some spores is to cut the cakes you're casing in half and then case. This yields about twice the amount of shrooms on the first few flushes and works a bit better than breaking the cakes up and casing. By doing this you'll only need to use half a syringe to innoculate 6 cakes, cut them in half and yield as much as you would from a dozen cakes. It works for my friend.

my lizard used sea of shrooms the first time he cased, and it worked well.
as for teks, the one my lizard based his first experiments on (primarily) was the one at growmushrooms.org... very nicely laid out tek.

Yeah don't go buy any thing to extravagent. I know people who still use the most basic things possible and they have tried it all. You have a good Idea about using pf and then casing them with 5050+. Just make sure that you pasturize the fuck out of it and use some H202 on your sliced cakes... especially where there seems to be less colinization.
